My Model S had 8 miles on delivery. The SC staff said that they put 15 miles as the minimum number on the delivery odometer statement.

I really have no idea. Any additional drag is really of no concern to me. And I can tell you that the driving noise in this car is minimal. Super quiet cabin. Much quieter than my model S 2017Any idea what effect the rear spoiler has on drag or wind noise? It's so low on this car, I don't want to worsen it just for something that looks good. Is it added to the plaids for any functional purpose? The cd figure given by Tesla does not differentiate between the LR and Plaid models.
Disappointing that you didn’t have a great experience. Really stinks that your first impression is of a dirty car. I picked mine up in Salt Lake City yesterday. Hand off was quick with the advisor but she did walk me through the key cards, getting phone paired. I got to my appointment an hour early so had lots of time to inspect the car. While it wasn’t showroom clean it had just been washed. All parts were included. The issues were relatively minor and have a service visit scheduled to address the. Distorted rear glass, front hood and frunk alignment issue, a couple of window gasket issues, some black residue near the rear hatch strut, worm but I don’t care about it. Two issues I have reported but may just be design issues. 1) the visors don’t have enough tension to stay in their fully extended toward the windshield position (they fall back towards vertical). Had a long drive home into the setting sun and had to keep pushing it up toward the windshield to prevent it from blocking too much of the horizon. 2) the top portion of the center display (where the white speed limit sign is displayed) seems dimmer than the rest. It is like the top of the sign is gray and the rest of the sign is white. Not usually picky but that kind of bugged me on the 4 hour drive home.6 months after ordering (almost exactly) picked up my 2021 MSM MSLR today. Definitely a no frills experience: walked in, dropped off cashiers check, they told me to go outside and look for it. My phone app automatically switched to be connected to the car. Took me a few minutes walking around to realize that the doors wouldn't automatically open (this is is my first Tesla), and with the key cards/fobs being in the car wasn't sure what to do. Finally figured out I could unlock from the app.
Either I'm not as picky as other people, or I'm just super lucky. I can't find anything I'm unhappy with. Rubber on the frunk near the wipers is a little floppy, there was the most minor scuff on the drivers seat, other than that it's perfect. I see what people say about the doors needing a little more force to close. I'm in, doors are shut, but the car still thinks they're open. I've had a few hiccups with the UI freezing/rebooting, etc., but I assume that'll get better.
This car is...amazing. It's fast, it's fun, it's easy to drive, lots of little things to fiddle with. Smooth ride, yoke is fun (given a choice I'd take steering wheel and stalks, but this is fine. Overall, as they say, 100% worth the wait.

Thank you for this! I’m so going to put in a preorder. I most likely not going to like the yoke and was looking for a third party steering wheel optionIn case people want a round steering wheel, an option is coming via third party.

An honest review of the yoke
Sent a PMI’m picking up my car on Friday the 10th and I’m near ATX
Congrats! Wow, these VINs can drop at any time - midnight on a Saturday night?!Yipee! I checked at 10:00pm no VIN. Checked again at 2:30am VIN 5YJSA1E5XNF460xxx Estimated Delivery: December 15 - December 21! I have time to arrange insurance and loan as needed. I guess Elon read my last message. There is a wizard behind the curtain.
‘Worm’ in yoke normal and in spec. Seen it in previous Teslas and in other cars as well.Picked up today and this car is something else! I am dissatisfied with the build quality and I have multiple issues that need attention:
Seat bolster wrinkled
Yoke with worm in the center.
Interior fabric on roof panel not fully set/glued down
Interior rubber seals misaligned
Rear window glass distortion
Missing privacy shelf in trunk
Crack in wood trim
Whistling wind noise at speed
Clunk/thud in suspension when going over speed bumps
Most recent of these are minor and will be easy to fix. But Tesla needs to do better!
Thanks ! Reassuring! I think the rubber seals, and the top interior fabric roof are the two that are bugging me the most! But fixable and wouldn’t deter me from recommending a Tesla. I expected this stuff‘Worm’ in yoke normal and in spec. Seen it in previous Teslas and in other cars as well.
Rear window is across the entire fleet. It should not be in line of sight of window
Missing parcel shelf can be ordered. Most cars are missing them. And if that’s all you are missing, you made out well.
Depending on the ‘cracks’ in wood, it might be in spec. It’s meant to look like real wood and have ‘gashes’ in the wood. Seen only a few cases were the wood looks truly terrible. So I’d be curious on this one.
Depending on the temperature outside, the ‘clunking’ could be normal. I had the same issue in my first Model S in 2019 and I thought it was an issue during the first winter. Think it’s something with the air suspension in cold weather.
Same config, almost same window. Hopefully we are on the same truck heading to Texas next week after we each get a VIN??EDD has held for weeks (Dec 11 - Dec 31) but no VIN yet. Really hoping I get it soon. I sold my 3 back in July and am getting desperate
Anybody in Austin that would let me look at their car to hold me over?
Let’s pray to Elon together.Same config, almost same window. Hopefully we are on the same truck heading to Texas next week after we each get a VIN??
