2022 Delivery Date for my Model Y

Oh bloody hell, I got bumped by 6 weeks, this is the 7th time the EDD changed.
I'm wondering if they are bumping the reservations that were done with a lower price. In theory, they could be trying to maximize revenue for Q4 and have the cheaper ones delivered when Austin is up and running, which would make up in volume. I ordered in August, EDD is now Jan/Feb.
Feel your pain brother…

I ordered in early Aug as well. I current have a TBD delivery and no VIN. It was supposed to be next week but went to TBD 7 days ago. Frustrating but at this point January is fine. Any subsidy will be in the bank for cars delivered January and beyond. I have no doubt that higher margin vehicles are being prioritized. EDD is fiction

So just as an update…

My delivery window is dec 2-12. So far it’s stayed as this since ily vin was assigned earlier this week. I reached out to a local Tesla SC and they said they don’t see this being delayed but that my vin was still at the factory. Praying for a miracle that it delays to Jan 1st somehow. 😂

Misery likes company I guess. :(
The “fun”part is that in the meantime, I got my trade-in approved, which will be expired by the time the car is delivered with the new EDD. I’m in Canada, so I don’t have any reason to wait for Jan delivery.

The TA told me he is going to see if he can get it still in December, but honestly, I’m not holding my breath.

Update…. I had to give my SA a lesson in math as Tesla had my MVPA all screwed up. Vehicle price was wrong. They still had not removed the $750 delivery fee which was waived in writing and for some odd reason they showed me bringing a huge down payment beyond my trade which I’m not doing and never agreed to. That being said, once we ran a calculator together and I got him to understand what I was saying he promptly fixed the issues. These folks are stretched to the limit and I don’t think they get what it means to be dealing with an educated consumer about to drop $60K on a car. You can’t just buffalo people and expect not to get push back. Tesla needs to work on the front end so badly. As an aside and speaking of front end, my account on my APP is also not synced with the website account. The MPVA on my app is one page. The signature page. which is useless in getting financing. The review documents tab is useless at least in my case. They tell me it will update but it’s been 3 days now. Also, just simple stuff lIke the app doesn’t paint correctly. Words are layered on top of each other and it doesn’t scale to the screen size. This is simple stuff to get right in the first pass of rolling out an app if the was any user interface testing done whatsoever before it was put out for public use. Just shoddy work. Tesla should be embarrassed to put junk like this out there. Bad form Elon…. We’ll see if that carries over to the car.

Soooo…. Where does that leave us. With an accurate MVPA I have completed the financing with DCU At 1.24%. Not gonna put cash out there when I can earn 6-10% easily on investments. Almost free money. If I take the loan to its 65 month term it’s ~$1500. Anyhow, the check arrived yesterday. It took a Gand total of 17 minutes to get the application done and the loan approved. (Tesla, take note on efficiency and excellent customer service) I don’t know if this is because I’ve been a member of DCU since 1980 when I satrted working for Digital Equipment Corporation which is where DCU originated or because my credit rating is well over 800 or both or none. Regardless it was quick and painless. Great outfit for anyone looking for competitive rates on any loans. My account still shows a delivery date of 12-14-21 but I don’t expect the car until the following week based on conversations with the Colorado Springs delivery team. I just got a notice from UPS that the registration and operations documents are on the way for delivery on Tuesday the 14th. Starting to seem real. I guess I’d better find the title for the Highlander trade. It’s been a great car. Never once left us stranded, solid as a rock on ice and snow and decent mileage albeit a bit under powered. The MY will be the first non-Toyota/Lexus vehicle in our stable since 1990 When we bought our last Subaru. Big shoes to fill! I hope I’m as satisfied with the MY as I have been with all my Toys/Lex. I’m already braced for an extreme drop in the customer service experience.

I have none of these issues. iPhone, latest iOS, latest version of Tesla App. Perhaps the UI is having issues due to some aggressive accessibility options you might of set such as super large text? Or you set the phone to use a very large font elsewhere.

Wow you worked at Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC). I had a DEC Alpha CPU based 64 bit computer in the late 1990's. Windows DEC Alpha release & Linux were the operating systems I used. Used it for 3D animation/visual effects on The Silver Surfer cartoon series, Star Trek Deep Space 9, Star Trek Voyager, Sliders and some movies.
That's a good rate. I got 1.74% from Disney's credit union (they do not take referrals) with a loan term between 37 and 60 months or 1.49% with a loan term below 37 months. The loan was the easiest part of the process! Approved in a day. Later when the VIN was assigned and MVPA available, I called the credit union and told them I was emailing the signed MVPA which had the payment instructions as well. The credit union had dealt with Tesla often and knew what to do. Within an hour they generated a cashier's check and fedEx'ed it overnight to Tesla. They also emailed me a copy of the check and tracking number (later Tesla would ask me to email them a copy). I ended up using Plaid to pay my share of the balance to Tesla. I can disconnect Plaid from my account easily. In a few days I'll be inspecting the vehicle.

Well, I’m old…. I need aggressive accessibility, like zoomed screen, large text, etc. It’s easy enough to have the app compensate. Anyhow, not a big deal, just detail and I’m a detail guy

Yep…. Old decies never die… they just fade into a pdp11 memory core. Believe it or not, VAX/VMS lives on to this day! I started at dec fresh out of high school in 1980 in Colorado. Worked full time and got my higher education on their dime. I survived all the layoffs and the mergers with Compaq and HP and retired in 2012 on a very generous early retirement buy out from HP. Very heady days back then at what today feels like the beginning of time on the technological evolutionary path. My first engineering efforts were on an 622mb disk drive with 4 14” Winchester disks in a large clamshell, 3 of which went into a cabinet the size of a dishwasher. It was state of the art at the time…. Crazy man, crazy…

I grew up on IBM 3090's OS/MVS Jes2!

So…. I got a call yesterday…. Your car is being loaded on the transport. Should be leaving Colorado Springs by 4:00 pm. I’m in Santa Fe, NM…. About 5 hours if you’re doing arround the speed limit. The Delivery Specialist said she wasn’t sure if the guy would attempt deliver that evening or not but that I should expect a call from him shortly. The the disclaimer… “These transport guys are crazy sometimes”. Well, no car yet at 7:33 AM and no call from the delivery driver…. Hoping to see it today and will have some pretty serious questions if I don’t…

On a good note. The was a wind storm in Colorado Springs a few days ago. A few friends there still don’t have power. The wind was near 100 mph in some parts of the citY from what I understand. At any rate, the storm cracked the drivers side front window on my car. The delivery team went over the car with a fine tooth comb and found no other damage. What is the good news in that you ask? Well, Tesla actually reached out and let me know about the incident. Asked if I’d except the car anyway and had already placed an order for the new window to be delivered to the Nambe (Santa Fe) service location. I was pleasantly surprised that they were being proactive and actually gave me the opportunity to refuse delivery until he repair was made at the Colorado Springs site. Then the Nambe service center called me proactively to arrange a service appointment because since I’d not yet accepted the vehicle they could not contact me through the app. At which point they schedule the install of my Homelink module and the mounting and balancing of a spared wheel and tire I have. They are throwing in the TPMS valves stem at no charge. WTF, is this a Lexus dealer? Progress oon the customer service side? maybe…

So excited…. Hope we see it today. Can’t imagine why wouldn’t but its been a wild ride so I’m holding my breath for the next shoe to drop like the driver had an accident or there was a breakdown of lord knows what else….

One more funny thing. In my app, the “accept delivery” button is nonfunctional as is the “delivery appointment” button. So, worst case they drop the car, take my trade and I can’t drive the car because I won’t be able to unlock it Since the app is not functioning? I don’t know what’s gonna happen but my overactive imagination is turned up to 11 at this point. I have a note in tot he delivery team but it’s Saturday so who knows!

Wow, thanks for that link to all of the DEC brochures - brings back memories! (Former VAX/VMS systems manager here). I wish I could remember what we used to pay for those massive 622 Mb RA82 drives!
