2022 M3 RWD real life range question

This site may earn commission on affiliate links.
In the US, a 2022 RWD Model 3 is rated at 267 miles, which is ~430km.

I believe the difference is that Australia uses the fantastically unrealistic WLTP measurement to calculate advertised range, and that’s how they come up with 491km. There is probably a setting under Controls->Display to change the display to “rated” range instead of “typical” if it would make you feel better to see 491km instead of 431. In any case, it won’t affect the actual distance your car can travel on a charge in any way.

Thanks @ucmndd - I am more worried about battery degradation and warranty

Then perhaps you might be interested in this thread on the subject of RWD model 3s with the LFP battery:

Hi all

I charged my 2022 Model 3 RWD to 100% and get only 431km range. Is this normal? It’s significantly lower than the advertised range of 491km. Does everyone have similar range at 100% state of charge?

the advertised range is WLTP. All of the ranges are unrealistic.
Knock off 20% and then you get real world range (i.e. 350km for you or with degradation after a couple of years perhaps 310km or so)
