MORNING CHAMPION Barcelona Dec 26. It sails through the North Atlantic Ocean parallel to the African coast. Zeebrugge Dec 31

TITUS Southampton 14 Jan & Zeebrugge 16 Jan. Today, it arrived in Singapore and is currently refueling. I hope it resumes its journey towards Suez.

HOEGH DETROIT, Zeebrugge 15 Jan. Sailing across the South China Sea to Singapore to refuel. At the moment, there is no confirmation that it transports Teslas and I don't have much hope either, however, if someone who is waiting for a car in a country in northern Europe and has a VIN, they can check if their car is on said ship through the following link ...

Good morning! According to WalWil's system, TITUS is now routing around the Cape instead of through Suez... luckily it seems the ETA is only affected by 3 ish days.

Could still be subject to change but it is due to leave Singapore in a few hours.

Wow. Thanks. +3 days is surprising!
Thought it was a good indication seeing another WW vehicle vessel going through Suez that TITUS would follow path. Maybe situation is expected to get worse or more likely , the insurance on thousands of Teslas going thru suez is probably far more than going around Africa

Good morning, finally and as you just mentioned, TITUS will not travel through the usual route via Suez and will follow the same path as MORNING CHAMPION.

It seems that Tesla does not want to take risks regardless of the nationality of the ship since being an American brand and having American navy ships involved in the conflict could have problems, it makes sense. So, going into Q1 2024, there is a good chance that all ships coming to Europe will avoid passing through Suez and will have to go around Africa. We'll see...

Regarding the new ETAs, and as indicated by the TITUS transponder, Southampton 18 Jan, Zeebrugge 20 Jan.

Including updated information, this seems to suggest at least 3 RORO ships in transit over quarter’s end. If so, this is new behaviour for Tesla and verification of unrolling The Wave.

It seems that Tesla does not want to take risks regardless of the nationality of the ship since being an American brand and having American navy ships involved in the conflict could have problems, it makes sense.

From this morning’s Guardian newsfeed:

Typically, ships must notify their insurers when sailing through high risk areas and pay an additional premium. This risk premium paid by shipping companies was just 0.07% of the value of a ship at the start of December, but has risen to about 0.5%-0.7% in recent days.

In the last week prominent shipping companies including Maersk, Hapag Lloyd, and MSC have decided not to use the Red Sea. According to thinktank the Atlantic Council, seven of the ten biggest shipping companies by market share have suspended shipping in the Red Sea.

Yes it's looking like TITUS could be headed for Suez after all based on how it's tracking and the ETA. Was skeptical of only +3 days ETA if it was going via Cape it would've been +10-14 days right?

MarineTraffic doesn't have many data points but it shows MORNING CHAMPION went south via Jakarta

AIS is just aware of the destination, no ?
Picture above is from the TITUS company, it changed tonight from Suez to Cape of Good Hope

MORNING CHAMPION did not need to refuel in Singapore, so it diverted directly to Jakarta.

As Nikow comments, the TITUS shipping company has modified its initial route and will have to go around Africa. The reason it passed through Singapore is because it needed to refuel, so according to its new route, once it crosses Malacca it should head south, in search of the Cape of Good Hope.

Regarding the days it will take to cover the journey, at the moment there are 4 that have joined the initial route as shown by their transponder, we will see if it is true or if it is adjusted.
