2024 Model Y Long Distance: actual us postal address defined as HOME isn’t recognized

Using my actual US Postal address as HOME defined in “Navigation” doesn’t work. When parked in the garage the car thinks it’s still 100 feet away. Very aggravating as it wants to lock when I enter the house.

Not sure if there is a work around. That said is there a site to go to for either software bugs or software enhancements? I’d like to suggest an enhancement when defining HOME in Navigation to be able to select either a postal address or location coordinates.

Locking is good I think. Lets it go to sleep and maintain the battery properly.

Thinking about it, a preponderance of non locking at home would do a lot to explain the variance of battery degradation. Has anyone looked into that variable?

I see in other threads making an update to “data” in Google Maps has worked for others. Will give that a try. Thanx everyone.

After moving to a new development, the new home number couldn't be found on Google maps. The car thought that it was park at my neighbor address and while talking to him about the issue, he when into Google maps and edit the address. After a few days they review the issue and later the car was really home for the first time!

I had the same issue too where the location it stated was a different house number for some reason and I know Tesla uses Google maps so I made an edit to the location on Google maps and it was accepted and that fixed the problem

Problem solved thanx to all the responses to go to Google Maps and re-pin the home address. Yay!

Ok. But you should still lock it up with sentry off so it can go to sleep and maintain its battery.

Why? I never lock my Teslas at home and they never have a problem going into sleep mode.

You are not the OP so you are free to leave yours unlocked with the sentry off. It is my understanding that sentry mode engaged stops any sleeping.
