Does anyone know of an aftermarket vent cover that'd fit this sized air intake? The car is a May '21 build. It seems that the intake is bigger than it used to be (as covers that I have seen all look too small). Thanks!

Here is what I did. I got a "Metal Black Lock-in Gutter Guard" from Home Depot for $3. I cut it to size to fit the opening, There is enough material to make 2 covers for my 2020 Y. Amerimax Home Products Metal Black Lock-in Gutter Guard-6360X2 - The Home Depot

It is floating on top of the plastic air intake tube. When I put back the cowl cover, it is squeezed by the foam and the cowl cover, it is not going anywhere.

Shoutout to L_Mont for the nice fix. Here's my take:
Agreed. I had Mobile Service come out about a week after I took delivery to fix a couple of minor issues with the car. He specifically pointed out this vent and said, "the only aftermarket accessory that I'd actually recommend is to get a cover for this. Make sure it has airflow, but you need to prevent leaves and other material from getting into the ventilation system." With such an easy fix, you'd wish the factory would just take care of it. Appreciate the help!
The foam is glued. I did not remove it to apply the cover. I simply "bent" the cover to be slightly concave, then expanded it *into* the foam. The foam lip actually helps keep it in place.

I did the same thing. The gutter cover I used was plastic though. I just replaced my air filters after a year and found leaves and a lot of debris.
I'd recommend this over the intake filters or intake covers that I saw online. This won't cut down on air flow, which I guess Tesla can keep track of in case or warranty claims.

Same here. Lowes only had white …… my Y is white ….. looks nice. Peace of mind is the same, though. Thanks for the tip!!!

I'm not 100% sure, but I don't think so, based on the pictures of the new MY intake that I have seen.

Why Tesla did not design a proper cover is crazy. Changing my air filter today and leaves came out.
