I did the same thing. Before picture attached. I used a Sharpie eXtreme and touched it up. Here's the after: Imgur
I didn't think it was worth taking the wheel off to sand and spray. To the naked eye you can't tell - but if you get up close you can see where the touch up is.
I posted these videos about my DIY curb rash repair on our model 3. I’m sure the same basics, are applicable to model y wheels.
Just need to find the correct color for the touch up paint.
Anyone know of a mobile rim repairman in the La Verne/Glendora, CA area? I heard there are some mobile repair shops who do this, but not sure in my area.
I washed mine a few days ago and was horrified that there was a chip at the edge of one of my rims. I didn't even come close to touching anything. Colored it in with a sharpie but I can't believe the wheel spalled that way.
