Aero cover install Tip

I bought a set of take off Aero wheels last fall for snows. So I have two full sets of everything.

When I swapped the snows one Aero cover refused to go on. I’d push one side and the other side would pop out. I ended up grabbing one the extras I had for winter.

Now I’m swapping back. Lost track of which cover/wheel had an issue. It happened again. I was about to do the same thing and grab another cover and saw this.

Note the ring is not under all 4 posts that grab the ring. This was stopping the center hub from snapping in. And the cover was pivoting on the center hub.

This is how it should be. Note I almost coaxed it on wrong. I tried real hard, luckily I failed. I had read a couple folks lost an Aero cover and this might have been the reason.

I also regularly notice the outer metal spring clips that grab onto the spokes coming out of place. Although not as critical and covers may still snap on, good idea to check those too.
