Aero wheel hubcaps replaced with center caps and black lug nut covers

I took delivery of my Model 3 two months ago and ordered a set of gray center caps and black lug nut covers. I just picked them up and I'm very pleased with the results of the upgrade. It only took one minute to make the change.

This upgrade is apparently so popular that Tesla has increased the price of the center caps from $4 to $15 each and lug nut covers from $0.40 to $1 each. So much for the service not being a profit center

Looks like they got me good! They also didn't have/include the lug nut cover puller.

So I wasn't crazy about the look of the press on black caps so I installed some chrome lug nuts instead. Wish the wheels were chrome so eventually I may replace them. The picture shows what I did.

I was thinking about getting mine chromed. Though my Model 3 is in the distant future, having reserved on 4/7...

You have the take off the center cap because the Aero wheel has it's own that snaps in the same place. The lug nut covers can stay on.

So I wasn't crazy about the look of the press on black caps so I installed some chrome lug nuts instead. Wish the wheels were chrome so eventually I may replace them. The picture shows what I did.

You can buy color matched spray paint and paint the lug nut covers to match. I may try that when the weather gets warmer.

Very easily when the wheel is off the car. Tricky, but doable when the wheel is mounted.

Like others here, I use a suction cup bought off Amazon - works well to extract the hub cover whilst the wheel is attached to the car

Since I have ordered these with no car to put them on, I am not sure what to do with them when they arrive (likely before the car does...)

Can you provide a photo that shows your chrome lugs in the context of the whole car? I'd like to evaluate how the chrome lugs play with the rest of the car.....Thanks!
