Amazon Echo Auto without changing input?

I received my Echo Auto a couple of weeks ago and finally got around to unboxing it today. I was bummed to see that it will only work if you switch the audio input to "Phone". I am on "Streaming" 99% of the time and it just doesn't seem worth the effort to switch it for Echo.

Is there any workaround to this?

I've been using Echo Auto myself. As far as I know, it's all or nothing. Either you keep it on your phone/Bluetooth and use the Echo to manage streaming music, or you use Slacker and manually switch back and forth.

Nope, if you want streaming, you'll have to let the Echo stream.

Common thing with Bluetooth, it's a switch, only one source allowed at a time. You can't play AM and FM at the same time in any car.

You can stream using the phone and change the source of the stream with verbal commands to Alexa. It costs some data on your phone plan, but audio streaming doesn't seem to use that much data in my experience.

Thanks for the replies. I was hoping there was a way to make it work like phone calls. For example, I can have it on Streaming and then when a call comes in, it automatically switches over to the call. When the call is over, it comes back to streaming.

Oh well. I guess this is going back to Amazon.
