I would wait for your ideal car, We have both an M3 and MY. I've learned from Tesla to expect the unexpected, both times there were issues. On M3 that we bought at the end of 2019 the car was stuck in Arizona somewhere, the delivery was in Littleton and they never bother to call us to let us know that the car is not there, They did Uber us back to Superior. The "bearer of bad news" at the time was a lady name PJ...yesterday when we were picking up the MY at Superior, there was PJ (and she is a very nice young lady) letting us know that she is the "bearer of bad news" once again and there is a bolt in the tire. At the end, all of the issues were fixed. When all said and done and you get in and drive away...you will get a good laugh and a lot of joy.

PJ was also the "Bearer of bad news" to me as well...She told me my car went to Tampa Florida instead of Superior and suggested I drop that VIN and get a new one.

This is concerning. What has to go wrong logistically for a car to be shipped not only to the wrong SC but to the complete other side of the country. I really hope mine made it on a truck that is only headed to Littleton.

"Jeff" at the Superior SC had told me about it a few days earlier and apparently had tried to get it diverted from Texas while enroute to Tampa. No luck obviously. And since Telsa doesnt have regular transport shipments from "east to west", there was going to be a bit of a delay getting the car back from Tampa. In the end, they recommended dropping my VIN and waiting to be reassigned a new one that would likely arrive sooner.

I picked up my Model Y Performance yesterday morning (June 27, 9 am - 10 am) in Superior, Colorado. Everything went quite smoothly. Good physical distancing and everyone was wearing masks for a (mostly) touchless delivery.

Very minor imperfections noticed so far...scratches on the driver's side window near the top (not sure if it is worth bothering Tesla about), a couple of paint dings (definitely not worth bothering Tesla about). The rear lift gate works fine and seems properly aligned. The rear seat seems connected properly and all the seat belts seem to be attached! The frunk cowling cover is also attached. It was at about 35% charging level when I picked it up and overnight it charged to 80% at home. Currently sharing a wall connector with my Model 3 but will probably buy a new dedicated connector at some point in the late summer when everyone hopefully goes back to school...three high school kids and school teacher wife...and we start using all the vehicles more. Software version was 2020.20.12. I chose the "tow hitch" option (this is Colorado...have to be able to haul bikes to the mountains) but haven't tried pulling off the plastic cover yet to see if it is really there. Yes, I know the Tesla tow hitch is more than twice as expensive as the after-market ones you can get, but, as I am not a DIY type guy the last thing I was going to do was to take pliers, screwdrivers, hammers and torque wrenches and pry the back half of my brand new car apart in order to do a self install!

It was a bit tricky getting the Model Y to show up in the phone app after clicking "accept delivery" on the website. It turns out that if you have other products in your account (I have solar and the aforementioned Model 3) you have to log completely out of the app and then log back in for it to appear.

Ten days ago I was supposed to get delivery of a different VIN (F016xxx) but Tesla proactively canceled it saying they had found too many problems, which was good of them. I never even saw the first vehicle. My new VIN is: (F018xxx) for those who like to try and figure out the mystery of VIN assignments.

Quick aside: Superior's parking lot is packed with all sorts of Teslas and while I was there two more car transports showed up with even more. The Tesla people there told be they had 40+ deliveries scheduled for yesterday (Saturday) and 80+ set up for today.

Bottom line: So Far So Good!

It's just the nature of this beast called Tesla. My car was built on June 22nd and delivered to Superior on June 26th early in the morning. I'm actually surprised that there is not more of those "wrong delivery location" mishaps. Good luck and I hope you will get an experience free of bearer of bad news, I believe PJ is in Superior now. :)

Yeah, Littleton said they have 12 deliveries PER HOUR for tomorrow and tuesday. Im expecting a less than ideal experience but who knows...

And my Model Y is apparently still in San Fransisco undergoing "additional testing". No idea what that means except that it has now been in SF for over a week with no movement. Hope this means that the car will be perfect and that they will address any issues prior to delivery.

My best guess is the slowdown because I am getting a truck delivery and the closest service center is 6 hours away.

Yeah, I guess I just dont understand the delivery logistics. I was told it takes 3-4 days to make it from CA-CO. I am assuming there is a stop in SLC as it is kind of on the way. I am assuming there is a truck full of 10 Tesla's headed east. I would think they start in CA, and along the way they unload and keep going until they are empty. But I dont think it works that way.

It is my guess I am waiting for more cars to join my carrier then coming out to Denver. I dont understand is how it takes six days to make it from SLC to Denver. I got the call on Saturday that I would be delayed because I was stuck in SLC and wouldn't be delivered to Denver until Thursday. I suspect the truck is likely close to empty and they are not going to transport a near empty carrier, so they are waiting for more cars to fill up the carrier. So, does that mean that my MY is sitting on a relatively empty carrier, waiting for other cars to be loaded on it from CA, or somewhere else? I really dont understand the process. Eventually there is going to be an empty carrier or something isnt there?

Dont get me wrong, I am not upset and I am more than patient enough to wait until the end of the week to take delivery. I am just trying to understand the process. However, as I am learning, I dont think there is a process. Every experience is "unique" and the rules/processes change for each situation.

Yeah, no clue how their logistics are set up. I don't see how a car built within an hour or two of my car made it to Superior last week and mine is still awaiting transport from SF. I am half tempted to cancel the truck delivery and see if that speeds up the arrival in Littleton (they suggested it changes the logistics). Non-stop tickets ABQ->DEN on SWA are still fairly cheap.

if the interior is WHITE very tiny chance of getting delivered soon. Yesterday went to Superior store-Tesla employee was busy getting the cars into SC for QC. I looked all over for my configuration (Blue/white/20") can't find no where. One employee told me they're getting ready for 80+ deliveries on Monday & 70+ on Tuesday. Little disappointed not to see my MY but happy to be a part of TSLA$.

Had to call Nevada. They fixed whatever removed my MVPA and now I have my VIN back! Still no movement though.

This really seems to be a problem with the truck delivery logistics. Had I chosen Littleton delivery I would probably have my car by now.

Question for my Colorado friends, especially those who live up north. Do you have any recommendations for electricians to help to get the garage set up for charging. I am not planning to buy a gen 3 Tesla charger, from all my research on this forum I am pretty sure I will be just fine with the dryer outlet (As you can tell from my very technical explanation I am not able/willing to wire this myself). Looking for a good POC to do the work and not mark up the cost because it is for a Tesla. Always willing to pay fair honest price just dont want to be taken advantage of!

I bought a pair of white on white Model Ys yesterday from the Littleton store so we could have his / hers. Our VINs are 18k + 19k. Both Y's had poor white paint coverage on the doors. It rained here Sunday so the cars had lots of spots and dust residue so we didn't notice the paint issue until after we had accepted and drove away. After a thorough cleaning at the car wash, we noticed the paint issue. Sent our delivery specialist a note that we want them both entirely repainted or we will return them.

So anyone picking up white exterior Y's in Colorado, be sure you check the doors. They look like they were painted separately from the rest of the car and even though they are nice and shiny, they have grey "clouds" visible in the paint as if they skipped a white paint pass.

Hope Tesla agrees to repaint, we don't really want to give them back. Due to the end of quarter push, we haven't heard anything back (sent two e-mails yesterday and left a voicemail about this issue). I'll drive over to the store on Thursday if I don't hear back from them before then.
