Any Colorado deliveries post factory reopen?

Has anybody on this thread recently added FSD after not initially ordering? My original plan was to add it after I took delivery of the car so that I wasn't inflating the cost of the car resulting in more taxes. With the increase in FSD coming in July I am tempted to go ahead and add the FSD but wondering if anybody has seen/noticed if it made a big difference related to taxes.

I would assume its taxed as part of the car purchase, so based on your county, plus it increases your annual registration costs. Purchasing after, avoids these costs, but you have to pay cash. Would like to here is my assumptions are correct.
Thats generally my understanding as well. Was wondering if anybody in CO, specifically Jefferson County, has experience with this example. I am a 7 seat reservation holder (c'mon Q4!) so I definitely wont be getting my car before the FSD price increase.

If taxes etc as a result of the 6K price increase to the total cost of the car go up significantly, is it a wash to just go ahead and order the FSD after iI take delivery?

The emotion of buy FSD now before the price goes up (Im sure this is exactly what Elon wants) is working on me but want to make sure I make as much of an informed decision as possible.

What is your sales tax on jeffco? What is the fsd price increase? If it's $1,000 I'd bet it's close to a wash. FSD holds no value to me, but let ask you how you feel about the $2500 you've given Elon and then ask, how do you feel about it loaning him 3x that for FSD someday?

Remember that FSD might be taxed with sales tax if bought after delivery (I haven't checked). In my state that is much higher (7% vs 4%) so better to purchase with the car.
We pay sales taxes on cars too, so there shouldn't be any difference in tax rates whether it was purchased with the car or afterwards. Where I live in Jefferson County, it would be 7.25% either way.

One thing to consider is that in the past, Tesla also charged more for FSD if added after initial purchase. If they still bump the price up $1000 for adding it after purchase then that might offset any savings one might have on their annual registration fees.

We have the exact same configuration.. Ordered on May 8th this year and Tesla Rep from Park Meadows Mall told me that the car should be here before the end of June... got a text telling me to get ready about two week ago. But nothing yet.

We are all seeing a lot of delivery notifications so was wondering if there were any delivery notifications for CO?

Waiting for my MY White/White PUP FSD w Tow. Still on "Drafting contract" No VIN in source view :(

Delivery specialist confirmed Tow will be added after delivery.

We got savings on our annual registration fees in Colorado? Really.. that's a good news..

I realized that after reading a post here that add FSD apart from the car as the vehicle registration takes the total amount.

If Tesla honors the same $7K for FSD, I may remove it the day before and add while taking delivery. Only caveat, the car should be in a decent state for me to take delivery.

Thoughts?

The annual registration fees are based on the price you pay for the car. If you don't include FSD, then the price of the car will be cheaper.

This is another place we are spoiled in NM. Registration fees are the same for all cars (edit: model year matters). The fees had been the same for ~ 30 years and just went up. I wonder how car value will be calculated if I register the car in a state that uses value. FSD does not come up from the VIN so I would have to give them the MVPA for them to ever know.

On our 2017 Model S, we paid over $2000 for registration (and ownership taxes) for the first year in addition to over $4000 (purchased for business in different county with lower tax rate) in sales taxes. The actual registration is only a small amount but the Specific Ownership Tax accounts for a majority of the cost.

This website helps calculate how much it will be: CO myDMV.

To calculate manually per year:
The percentage used on passenger vehicles is 85% and on cargo type vehicles 75%. Once the taxable value is established it remains on the ownership documents for the life of the vehicle. To manually calculate an estimate of fees multiply the taxable value listed on the title or using the calculation listed above with the appropriate factor. If the vehicle year is the current or next year's model multiply the taxable value by .021, if the vehicle is in its second year of service, multiply the taxable value by .015. For vehicles in the third year of service multiply by .012 and in the fourth year of service .009. If the vehicle is five to nine years old multiply by .0045. In the tenth year of service the passenger and light truck vehicles reach a minimum of a $3.00 ownership tax.

On a new 2020 Tesla costing $100,000, the ownership tax would be $1785 and the registration fee would be $79, for a total of $1864 for year one. Not including all fees, ownership taxes on a $100,000 vehicle would be:
Year 1: $1785
Year 2: $1275
Year 3: $1020
Year 4: $765
Years 5-9: $382.50

A "cheaper" Model 3 or Model Y at $50,000 would cost close to $965 for the first year registration and ownership tax. The total decreases for the first 5 years before becoming a lot cheaper.

If the $50,000 car added FSD at purchase and it is included in the valuation, that could make the first year's registration $1090 vs. $965. The remaining first 4 years would be higher as well.

We do have the EV tax credit which helps somewhat but really it just helps to offset part of the sales taxes.

It's not cheap to own a newer car in Colorado!

Thank You! This is exactly what i was wanting to know and I figured my friends here had some experience with this!
