I picked up my Model Y Performance yesterday morning (June 27, 9 am - 10 am) in Superior, Colorado. Everything went quite smoothly. Good physical distancing and everyone was wearing masks for a (mostly) touchless delivery.
Very minor imperfections noticed so far...scratches on the driver's side window near the top (not sure if it is worth bothering Tesla about), a couple of paint dings (definitely not worth bothering Tesla about). The rear lift gate works fine and seems properly aligned. The rear seat seems connected properly and all the seat belts seem to be attached! The frunk cowling cover is also attached. It was at about 35% charging level when I picked it up and overnight it charged to 80% at home. Currently sharing a wall connector with my Model 3 but will probably buy a new dedicated connector at some point in the late summer when everyone hopefully goes back to school...three high school kids and school teacher wife...and we start using all the vehicles more. Software version was 2020.20.12. I chose the "tow hitch" option (this is Colorado...have to be able to haul bikes to the mountains) but haven't tried pulling off the plastic cover yet to see if it is really there. Yes, I know the Tesla tow hitch is more than twice as expensive as the after-market ones you can get, but, as I am not a DIY type guy the last thing I was going to do was to take pliers, screwdrivers, hammers and torque wrenches and pry the back half of my brand new car apart in order to do a self install!
It was a bit tricky getting the Model Y to show up in the phone app after clicking "accept delivery" on the website. It turns out that if you have other products in your account (I have solar and the aforementioned Model 3) you have to log completely out of the app and then log back in for it to appear.
Ten days ago I was supposed to get delivery of a different VIN (F016xxx) but Tesla proactively canceled it saying they had found too many problems, which was good of them. I never even saw the first vehicle. My new VIN is: (F018xxx) for those who like to try and figure out the mystery of VIN assignments.
Quick aside: Superior's parking lot is packed with all sorts of Teslas and while I was there two more car transports showed up with even more. The Tesla people there told be they had 40+ deliveries scheduled for yesterday (Saturday) and 80+ set up for today.
Bottom line: So Far So Good!
