Any non-resident had luck getting a Carolina Cooperative loan recently?

There is a comment on the Tesla loan comparison sheet that Carolina Cooperative can be joined if you just join the Carolina consumer agency or whatever.

I’m interested in refinancing my current loan (2019 car with less than 6,500 miles on it) with them for their 2.49% rate. Has anyone had luck in the last month or two with joining them and getting a loan using the consumer agency “trick” when you clearly live outside the state? Or have they cracked down on that more to where you need to prove residency?
