Ordered mine May 18th 2020, took the delivery July 9th, 2020. VIN never got assigned until I called my delivery specialist. After receiving expect delivery June 28-30th text I have not received any updates afterwards. I called my delivery specialist and told him the situation his response was “Only limited amount of people receive that mass texts. You should’ve gotten yours already.”. then he went on to manual search their inventory he couldn’t find same config as my order (awd blk/blk/lr/19”) however he found me red/blk/awd/lr/19” & wht/blk/lr/awd19” both built end of June and asked me if I wanted any of those instead. I really wanted black exterior but didn’t want to wait forever knowing Tesla lacks in communication/updates so I told him I will go with White. While he was assigning that vehicle to me he received message (txt, email whatever they use to communicate within) from Tesla Fremont saying that they just released? (not exactly sure what that means) blk/blk/lr/awd/20” that was built 4 days ago. Took that in a heartbeat, he assigned that specific vehicle to me, my tesla account updated while i was on the phone with him vin, mvpa, etc got a call from delivery center to schedule pick up. So maybe those who has been waiting for awhile can call your delivery specialist and have them reach out to main tesla plant to see if they can assign you with matching or similar spec vehicle thats being built or already built just passing final QC because what I got from my delivery specialist is that the person who assigned the car for me (main plant) had access to inventories where dealer sales person & delivery specialist can not see.
