I’ve done it in my Model S half a dozen times. Far more pleasant than previous trips with ICE cars.
Leave home with 100% and have lunch at Gundagai. Car does all the driving.
That's a good leg. I just can't make it to Oliver's (Gundagai) with a 75D... have to stop in Goulburn. I think it's uphill because on the way back to Sydney I don't need Goulburn.
In any case, I did Syd-Mel return TWICE with a faulty autopilot (no autopilot actually) and check this out: no cruise control at all! Feather that foot the whole way and turn regen down because it hurts.... still better and easier than any ICE car doing that trip.
Plus I didn't need a hotel in Melbourne thanks to Hotel Tesla and a quiet park in Kew.
