Anyone bought Replica r241 19x9.5 for their new Model Y?

I went with 8.5” wide because the stock 255 width tires fit great on them (even better than on the stock 8.5” wide tires).

With the 8.5” there’s a lot less risk of curb rash, and with the tire protruding 0.2in less, there’s slightly less road grit sprayed on the car.

I’m getting the PA4s too (best of the High Performance Winter class). Way safer than Xi3 (best if the Studless Ice & Snow class).

The Xi3, like all SI&S, stop a tiny bit better on snow and ice (when you’re already driving more cautious).

But the Xi3 take 20-25% longer to stop when your rubber is on wet or dry salted/sanded pavement (almost all winter driving for most, and when you’re NOT driving extra cautious). With corresponding reduction in handling grip.

SI&S tires just seem way less safe than HPW tires. The SI&S are unsafe when you’re not being careful, and the HPW are still super good on snow and ice (just not quite up to SI&S).

Same tires. They’ll fit even better on 8.5” wide wheels.

Thank you for this, it is very helpful.

Makes sense that the 8.5" wide rim will help protect against curb rash. I'm not sure the tires will protrude 0.2in less though, because of the smaller offset (40 vs 45).

I notice the 8.5" wheel load rating is 770kg vs 820kg for the 9.5" wheel. Do you think this is important? I haven't been able to find the load rating of the OEM 19" wheels.

You’re right! I was confusing the outside of the wheel , but it’s really the midline that matters (because the tires will be centered on the midline). So the 19x8.5” tires will actually sit 0.2in proud of the car compared to the stock. (The R241 19x9.5 and 20x8.5 both sit 0.4in proud with 35mm offsets.)

My thread goes into more detail here: Model Y 19" vs 20" Decision Guide

Even the 8.5” has a higher load rating than the rear axle rating of the inductions. And almost as high as the Ubers/Geminis.

I just read through that thread. Very good information, you did a lot of good work and shared it with everyone. Kudos!

Hi guys. I just installed my replica 241
On my model y long range this morning. I used third party lug nuts (14x1.5 spline duplex 7) but I find they are way too long (see pictures). Have you guys used the OEM lug nuts that came with the Y or you did order new ones? I felts the OEM were a bit too short with the replica 241.

if you have ordered new lug nuts would you please share what you did order?

yes i wanted the R3 but ended up with pilot alpin as R3 were back ordered.

thanks

So you ordered TPMS from Tesla Store and installed them by yourselves?

The lug nuts that came with my replicas also say 14x1.5 but they look much shorter than yours... hopefully they fit..

This thread has been super helpful. Thank you to all of you for the informed and helpful links and information.

Having now read it a dozen times and done about as many phone calls searching for available wheels and tires, I was finally able to secure new Replika R241s 19x8.5 wheels and HAKKAPELIITTA R3 SUV 245 /50 R19 105R XL BSW for my red performance Model Y (stealth), both being drop shipped to America's Tire here in California. I also looked for Michelin X-ice Snow, but could not find them available. The stock Hakka Rs were also not available, but the America's Tire store manager confirmed that the 245/50/19s will fit at least as well, and they are only .6" larger in diameter (+2.1%), per this useful tire size calculator: Tire Size Calculator

On the centre caps, still looking into that myself. I think pretty much any Tesla ones will fit - the M3 ones the Tesla site sells or the Chinese ones on Amazon. In another thread someone said the Model X ones in black are the best match for these wheels but I don't see them on the Tesla (Canada) site myself.

Did you guys find matching center caps (and lugs/covers) that you can recommend? Awaiting my satin black Replikas in about 10 days.
