New incident:
I was configuring the wheels and tires for the seasonal swap. When I hit the update button, the car did a full reboot. I don’t think that this is "normal".
After swapping your rims, just drive for a distance and then you get a message to OK TPMS new configuration. No reboot happens. BUT, if you select a tire reconfiguration from the menu then it will force a software reconfigure boot process.
Thanks for the inputs. Car rebooted completely when I was about to put it in reverse this morning. Weird. I just keep tracking the timestamps on all these events. I need Tesla to make it there a problem completely.
Latest update. After weeks and months of complaining and submitting service requests with time stamps, they apparently changed the MCU2 (I think that is what it’s called). They referred to it as the main computer. I had to set up my phone and all streaming apps again, but it seems to have resolved it for now.
I’ll keep on top of this. Thank you everyone for your support and especially @Jgdixon for your help. Anyone who hasn’t yet joined TOCO (Tesla Owners Club of Ontario) should, if you’re in this province.
So here is the invoice (zero cost) for the main computer unit replacement. Does anyone know how much one of these costs? I'm just curious after battling with them for over a year. I wonder if my plea to Elon on Twitter, had anything to do with this - LOL?
