Anyone wondering about the "Coming Soon" Supercharger Stations in Florida?

Tesla Supercharger Coming Soon ... In the middle of Alligator Alley, FL : teslamotors

Personally I can't seen anything in the picture which says Tesla superchargers. What do the locals think?

(Also, does anyone know the location idenified by the sign?)

Well, the signage refers to the Miccosukee Tribe. Their reservation is down on Tamiami Trail, not Alligator Alley. Perhaps the Miccosukees are proposing putting supercharges at their casino on the east end of the Trail - it would be convenient for driving over to Naples.

Miccosukee have a “Miccosukee Service Plaza” on Alligator Alley (I-75) at State Road 84. That location makes the most sense (although I agree the photo does’t show any Tesla charging stations).

This popped up on Plugshare today:

No evidence that I can see, and the marker is in the middle of a golf course.

Can any locals offer further insight? Should this be deleted?

Any Supercharger planned along US19 going North from Crystal River area to Tallahassee? Many people use that route to go to Florida State and FAMU and TCC. The chargepoint locations are just hotels. From Tampa, its 229 miles so it puts some of the older/smaller battery sizes out of range.

eh - per google is is an office building and town homes across from city hall. Closer to dixie hwy than 95. not exactly where I would have put it. There is a big publix shopping center right off 95 that would have been much better. from my selfish point of view

I did notice it was an office building, but also noticed "for sale" sites in Google street view so figured it could have been refurbished/demolished/rebuilt by now! My suspicion is that it's just a random marker placed by someone for no reason (going by the other Boca Raton one also placed randomly further up this page!)

If it's legit - I'll add it to supercharge.info!

Here Chuq, the person who seems to have added it on PlugShare has also added photos.

It doesn’t look much like a Supercharger to me, but the user suspects the green fencing might be so to conceal the construction area. Still the parking lot at 200 W. Palmetto Park. Can someone go take a closer look at this?

I drove past the above place in Boca yesterday while here to visit family. It’s still the same as the pics basically just a dirt lot. It’s pretty small too so I am not sure what will be built. I am here often and would live to have a supercharger closer than Delray.

This spot is close to where the destination chargers are at Royal Palm Plaza. I tried the charge there last night but all the spots were taken. What was especially frustrating was a Model S taking one of spaces but was not even plugged in.

New to TMC Forums. Not sure if wild speculations are allowed, but figured it may help the group when searching for permits. There is a new Wawa that is being built at US-19 and Countryside. This seems to fit with current trends and would also be a strong location for a Supercharger. There is the one in Pinellas Park which would make sense having one almost as far North in Clearwater proper. It is also near the Countryside Mall, adjacent corner, and a few outdoor shopping plazas with other restaurants.

Been checking the permit site periodically for my prediction at the Wawa located at US-19 and Countryside and I can now confirm I was correct. Permits have been filled for eight (8) v3 stations at 26508 US Highway 19
Clearwater FL 33761.

I also drove by this location the other day and made the same observations as JayJ. IMO, the construction there is for a future building, not a lot with SCs. I could be wrong, but it seems much more likely that chargers would appear at the Boca Mall or other busy location along Glades Road. The location at 200 Palmetto doesn't have the look of any SC construction sites that I've ever seen.

Yeah, I think it's good enough. If Larry wants to futz with the title he can. I copied pdeinselen's comments and posted them there: Supercharger in St Pete / Clearwater

Fair to set the SC.info discussion pointer to that thread now.
Thanks, mociaf9.

Sorry for being late to the party. I've been ill for a while and I'm trying to catch up.

I'm going to slightly futz with the title by removing the reference to St. Pete. This Supercharger location is definitely in Clearwater and despite the misspelling and misplaced pin, the Find Us map also shows a "Coming Soon" Supercharger in Clearwater.
