AP speed reduction is dangerous

Going 75 on a high way and the speed limit sign goes to 55 from 65. AP slams on the breaks and nearly gets me rear ended. Wtf is this. FSD feature complete

What is your car's year, please? AP1 or AP2/3? That could make a difference in answers you get.

Also, if memory serves, AP does not change speed because of a change in speed limits except on roads with no center divider. So, were you on a freeway with a center divider? Or on some other type of road?

It is possible your car experienced "phantom braking" and the change in speed limit is a coincidence, too....
