First post here......went to the showroom (Brea, CA) on Oct 21, sales consultant located a car we wanted in the Southern California area (LR RWD, Obs Black, 18" wheels). We placed our deposit. Next day (Oct 22), was contacted by the delivery specialist, and we're picking up the car on Nov 4. Two weeks start to finish. I have a VIN in the system, and we're also doing a trade-in.

Nice. I wish my process went as smooth. Unfortunately, I'm still stuck on getting my order updated and a VIN assigned =/

Hello. I placed my order this Tuesday, the 22nd. I ordered a MR and then my Owner Advisor put in a case request to switch me to LR. Still waiting to hear back on that. Anyone else going through the same process????

Did you order a white interior or black interior? The LR RWD with WHITE interior will have to be manufactured. A black interior might be sourced from inventory. The first thing you need to do is get the change request finalized. To be fair to you, this is not a "change" request. You have wanted LR RWD from day #1. Nothing will happen with your order until the "change" is made.

I ordered the black interior, even though I saw that the white interior looks much nicer with the Blue color. However, I'm concerned that the white seats just won't last, color wise

How would I know if the change request is finalized???? When I call Tesla, they say the case is closed and that they've got it that I want the LR, and that I'm just waiting on a VIN. Am I supposed to be doing something else???? It seems like quite a few folks who have ordered around/after me already have a VIN assigned. And I see that one user on here filled out the spreadsheet, who ordered after me, in my exact configuration, and got a VIN before me =(

I added FSD after my order and I received an email indicating that the change was made. You should also be able to go to into your Tesla Account, Manage your order and then choose Order Summary and then on the right you will see View Design Details. This will show you the options that are on your order. When I received the email that the change was made I noticed it ended up under the Design Details.

Also, I have looked at the data of when people are getting their cars compared to when they ordered and when they got a VIN based on the color, interior, etc. and I was unable to come up with any way to predict how long it will take. I ordered on 10/08, received VIN on 10/23 for deliver on 11/17 - IDA said car will be in FL on 11/10 and I may get it before the 17th. I will have a problem if I have to reject this car due to the tax credit, but based on what others are saying I may not be as critical as I normally would because it seems that they are just recycling cars to other people. Also, after just buying a newly built home 2 years ago I can say that the repair is usually not as good as a bad first attempt.

In the end Tesla is making these based on some formula that we can't figure out due to lack of complete data. Then the logistics of delivering across the country with no dealer network or real inventory stockpiled then it becomes the quagmire that it is. I am fine with all this so far as they are still trying to figure all this out and we're the beta testers.

you'll know it's finalized if the correct configuration is shown on your Tesla account when you log in.

It has literally been radio silent since I ordered the car. The only things that has happened is that I reached out, and that's how I've been able to check on progress, status, etc.

This is what concerns me some. I didn't even get an email that my order was updated, and it hasn't updated on the Design Studio page. It literally shows the exact same configuration as when I ordered it.

It is a terrible customer experience. Until your "change" is processed your car is not in queue to be built and nothing is happening with your car.

I ordered a LR with white interior on 10/19 . They have done nothing except tell me my request is received and the 'change' will be processed sooner or later. Keep in mind, my LR RWD order was not a 'change'. Their sales staff told to order the MR online and to call them with my confirmation number and they could get me the correct battery (Long Range). This was their process. I did not "change" anything. I have not "changed" anything in 940+ days. I am a Day 1 reservation holder who has waited 940+ days to order a LR with a white interior.

On 10/19 I was told to wait 7 days for the order to be corrected. This weekend, I was told to wait 7 more days. There is no logical reason that they cannot process your order on the phone so I would continue to call every 2 or 3 days and keep asking to escalate it. I called the Fremont factory Sales team Sunday trying to get their help. It's a terrible and frustrating experience. Letting everyone on earth order in front of Day 1 reservation holders was also a kick in the groin. Screwing around with pricing via twitter is another terrible experience. Showroom sales staff having no idea what Musk is Tweeting is another terrible experience. Continue to check with Tesla and please reply back. If you get the change made please keep the name of the person who helped you so we call them too!

This is exactly what I did, except my Owner Advisor did the change for me, which they call a "case" and though I feel really bad that you're having a crappy experience with it too, I was very concerned that by me having my Owner Advisor do it, it had somehow fallen into limbo. Knowing that it can happen to you, who called in after the fact, makes me feel much better about not being in limbo because of the process, but because Tesla is just disorganized at doing this particular process.

I'm actually on hold right now, to follow up, but also, to change to White Interior. I stopped by a showroom on the way home from work and I saw the white interior in person, and man, I just had to have it. I was very worried about stains (jeans in particular, as I wear them almost daily), so I read some threads on here, and watched some Youtube videos, and they seem to have very little issue cleaning the stains up, so I'm gonna pull the trigger on it. Just out of curiosity, what color exterior did you get????

Ordered on 10/5 (Reservation holder but didn't pull the trigger until I went on test drive and ordered the same day)
RWD LR EAP 18 aero, MSM
Got a call on 10/10 and delivery scheduled in Maryland for Nov 1st
Got VIN on 10/15
Communication was great, IDA responsive...thought I'd be on of the lucky ones...

Delivery rescheduled for 11/10
And the waiting continues..

Got a call on 11/5 for a home delivery and car delivered on11/6
All went smooth and aside from then minor hiccup not a bad experience at all. Seems that Tesla is cleaning up the production and delivery stuff.

Day 1 reservation holder. Ordered 10/25, changed order same day from MR to LR RWD, Black Ext/Int, no eap. I heard nothing for about a week. Kept calling and filled out info requested. Finally I selected Cash even tho I was getting it financed thru my credit union. Essentially they’d be getting cash. Got order change confirmation 10/31 not sure if because I called or selected cash. Got call 11/2 that offered deliver for the next day. Scheduled for 11/6 so I could get my check picked up. So that was almost less than two weeks. Car was built in October of this year.

Ordered MR single motor on 10/19. On 10/21 files change to LR. Have been calling constantly ever since. On 11/5 I was finally notified the change went through but when I checked my order was now LR AWD. I have been calling every day since. People say it will get corrected and that I will get the car before the end of the year but I am nervous. You would think this would be easy to fix but apparently it isn't.
