Are the fog lights automatic with lights set to auto?

Just got a Model 3 LR. Are the fog lights auto if I set them to on and set lights to auto? Because they don’t seem to stay on during the day.

They automatically come on with the headlights, but you only have daylight running lights during the day.

Yes - if set to lights are set to "Auto" and fog lights are on when the camera recognize a darker area. You can always check when you park in a garage or in a dim/dark environment.

Also, fog lights turn off with the high beams like they are supposed to. But yes, they are automatically turned on with the low beams if you have them toggled on.

I wish fog lights could be activated by voice command as I only use mine when it's foggy.

I might be mistaken but I remember a friend being given a ticket for having fog lights on at night time without it being foggy in Cali, anyone have input on this?

That is incorrect... your friend must had been pulled over for something else. UNLESS your friend has one of those spotlight fog lights for off-road use? But OEM foglights are completely legal as they were sold with from the manufacture/dealer.

Thats a bit odd. Foglights should not be turned on unless the visibility is less than 200m. Im pretty sure in teslas the foglights are all manual.

How do you know the foglights are turned on?
