Are These Additional Speakers?

Hi All,

I'm wondering, are the circled things on the images below additional speakers? I have the Premium and Fidelity Sound System Package, but no sound comes out of these. If they're not speakers, what else could they be? Has anyone heard sound come from these? Thanks!

They don't look like speaker grills. There's a speaker grill for your tweeter at the bottom of the column where it meets the dashboard.

There are 17 speakers in the premium sound package. I can't figure out where all 17 would be otherwise. See the image below, what do you think? :0

Here's a picture of Model S front speakers

Those are located in the same position as the X but the S is missing a tweeter at front center dashboard

You can count that the S has 3 mid-range speakers on the dashboard and same as the X.

The S has 2 tweeters at the bottoms of A columns the same as the X.

That's a total of 5 so far.

The X has an additional tweeter in front center dashboard so 6 for X and 5 for S.

You can continue to count with your own graphic diagram that you posted:

Two Mid-woofers in front doors

Two Mid-woofers in the wings.

Two tweeters in the wings

Two Mid-Ranges in hatchback door

Two tweeters in hatchback door

One subwoofer in right rear quarter.

So that's another 11 in addition to 6 front = 17

That small rectangular thing is imprinted as "air bag".

It might be a cover to access something that's called "air bag".

Yes, those are the microphones for the Voice Activated system and phone integration.

They are the "A" pillar retaining bolt covers. Behind them is a 10mm bolt. The bottom of the pillar simply hooks into the dash.

Especially, when you have a long arm just to reach to the passenger A Pillar!
