BTW, I was at the new Dublin Supercharger yesterday, and this girl w/2017 MX had the same error messages as I filling her cluster (ICU). And we we helping the Tesla tow guy push the car back far enough to enable pull onto his bed. She was luckier, 12V was not dead and computer was on, and she...
Yes, they said do yo have AAA, I said yes, they said you have options, Tesla or AAA and cost will be better w/AAA. It was free but I tipped the guy.
I did verify by phone that AAA was bringing the flat bed and knew the Tesla towing routine.
While supercharging, my car bricked, all black screens, had it towed by AAA a short distance to Dublin Service. 12V would not hold a charge, so the Heroic AAA guy keep it jumping while pulling car onto flat bed. (Tow mode cannot be activated while car is bricked.)
Battery coolant heater...
Thks for sharing that work-around, literally. My spare tire supercharging experience one place is attached, from CA to AZ recently.
Other pics show how even a full rear spare can fit, but I don't do it that way, or with bike rack serially attached.
I was pushed the 2023.20.7 and not an FSD car. Stats app shows me in the FSD family, but I am not, but agree to share data no problem.
My issue is small: The fob summons is broke. The smart summons works, the manual summons by phone works. But fob is what I use daily
Anybody...
I had an April 2016 Titainum color MX with radio, then upgraded to current MX. When I upgraded it's MCU1 to MCU2.5, radio it was gone and I use Tune-in.
No direct way for AM, I think the frequency band interfered with the car.
I had the opposite happen. I display the trip energy early, while I'm charging and it shows negative % at destination. I like to watch the whole curve move up as super-charging happens. When +20% at destination showed, I left the supercharger but did not refresh the trip, left it going. Then...
My situation got worse. First, I'd been having flaky wand insert at both home & Supercharger while the LED's were broke. After the ranger put in new port assembly (2 pics below), he launched a software update and left. After software & rebooting, I could not charge and no LED's either. Wand...
If only the LED's woulda been fine, but the un-latch that accepts the charging wand is unreliable. I have to fiddle with the button a bunch to finally hear the click before putting in. And the pins look awful and warn. Don't wanna take any chances, going on a trip soon.
My light ring failed after 6yrs, mobile ranger will come, saving me lots of driving and a rental car, but estimate is $666.71
It's the devil amount
Tech is soo cool. I was going to suggest the wheel size reset, change to different size from service screen, and it will reboot the car more than dual thumb wheel holding,
I don't think this is recalibrate like the ranger would do, but try sitting in back seat, close the FWD, then push & hold the open (mine is a lever you pull). Then close while still in back.
Mine will open very slow and more fully, so be outdoors.
Has anybody tried the linked unit (12V Jack) on a Model X? I lifted my rear wheel with floor jack, and it was smooth & stable. I'd be concerned with trusting scissor or the small 12V unit.
Recently on 128 toward Mendocino, cars mostly pull over to let folks pass, and this was happening fine for me. Until a muscle truck decided to closely tail-gate me until car in front of me found a suitable place to pull out. At each of these occasions I left the muscle truck in the dust, until...
When I upgraded to Sonic Carbon rims, sold 3 of the 4 stock slipstream rims and made the extra a spare. Got the Schwaben Floor Jack (it's awesome & safe) and found it fits in the 2nd row for long trips. Two boards made for a ramp and Jack post helps push/pull it in/out. What other car has...
I did not notice smoother lane change (it was already fine) or improved cruise control (TACC).
But agree fully with @Emanmdphd on the rest of the MCU2 functionality & bonus
Visualizations on Instrument cluster, dash-cam, browser works (not great though), games, viewing maps in satellite mode much more responsive. I'm sure there are more reasons.
Sorry that happened. I'm on OEM Conti-silent 80k miles (two MX cars) and only had a nail or screws or a rock loss of pressure. Fixed by local shops.
You are un-lucky, bot don't blame the OEM pal.
I agree with the "not enough to skip a supercharger" statement, and travel to Phoenix & Mendocino from SF. Had a 90D and now the P100DL, worlds of difference, I understand more than the difference OP is asking. But still, I vote "Go P"
Picture shows it fitting. And adapter needed for rear. Thanks to those who posted on this thread, I've not had a total tire failure yet in 5 yrs, but close to it, and will implement this measure in my 5 seater. Booya!
My issue with these guys are non-highway, like tailgating on a two lane road, or racing up to a stoplight next to me and making engine noise. I'm confident I can be outta their space or thru the intersection every time they ask for it. Normal drivers I'm fine with, and I accelerate gently.
When my MCU1 black screened, it could still charge, but blinkers non-functional. This made the car un-safe, so I got put to the front of the line for infotainment MCU2, and got it. Just do this if you wanna put your problems behind you.
Yes, now I'm watching them fly by on the right of IC, then the normal speed sign either updates or not.
So if I'm in AP @+5mph for example, then my car speed will be adjusting better. Cheers
Yer right. It shows in my release notes but I have no FSD.
Today, (Saturday), I (on a 35mph road) went thru a school section and my car IC did not display/capture the school-time 25mph shown on sign.
Everywhere today, my IC displayed what were on the signs rather than what was prior (GPS...
