Took delivery today/yesterday as it’s past midnight now. Car came with 5 miles and I loved putting 80 more on it in the first day. Tested a supercharger at Lenox Mall and it works great. Have not seen many if any other Obsidian Black Metallic 3’s out there which is a bit shocking. The car is beautiful and a joy to drive. As others have said, well worth the wait and anxiety we’ve all been going through.

Panels, paint, every detail I could see in the horrible overcast sky today looked fine and aligned. Really happy with the car. Good luck on deliveries this weekend guys :)

Full details now that I got some sleep. Not looking to rub it in for people who have had issues, I really do sympathize with you, but my delivery is proof that the process can work.

Timeline:
Oct. 8 - Ordered LR RWD, Red, EAP
Oct. 9 - First IDA Contact, delivery appointment scheduled for 10/27
Oct. 19 - VIN in account, window sticker (Monroney) received from IDA. IDA stated production date 10/8, same as my order. Delivery moved to 10/25 based on scheduled car arrival on 10/23.
Oct 23 - IDA confirmed car arrival at delivery center
Oct 24 - Delivery center called to confirm appointment
Oct 25 - Took delivery!

The trip home was about 120 miles including a stop at the Chattanooga supercharger to confirm everything is in order. I am taking a ~360 mile one way road trip today/this weekend, so I didn’t want to make it to the first stop and find out it didn’t work. My autopilot adapted in 17 miles of not-quite highway driving, and the car does not yet have the V9 SW. Hopefully it updates soon.

Hey guys and gals, if you are needing a Tesla fix while waiting for your cars, might I suggest coming by and hanging with us tomorrow. I would love to get to meet you guys in person.

There is a meet and greet tomorrow, Saturday the 27th at 1:30 at the Fire and Brimstone Tavern in Alpharetta. Fire and Brimstone Tavern - Drinks, Entertainment, Food - Alpharetta

Come have some great food and talk about your favorite subject (Tesla) with people that share your affliction! Might even discuss future events and drives so come and say hi. They even have 4 destination chargers on site! (Owner drives a Tesla)

See you there!

Dan

I'm scheduled for delivery in Alpharetta on Saturday at 12:45 pm. I've received the MVPA and the request to make my final payment. I obviously don't want to do that until I can inspect the car.

I called the delivery 888 number earlier and was told my car had passed through Birmingham. That's a good sign, right? I keep waiting on the 'delay' notification.

It’s after 2 pm and no call yet. I guess delivery tomorrow could still happen even if the truck doesn’t show up until later this evening. But I’m starting to think a delay is coming.

New to the board - just joined!

10/7 - Ordered - Black, LR, RWD, 19"

Filled out all "paperwork" online and watching the next steps to change from: "We are drafting up your contract and will contact you when you can make your final payment." Estimated Delivery: Nov. '18

This waiting is torture....

Welcome!

I'm right there with you. The wait is torture but it'll be worth it in the end.

I ordered 10/12 and my delivery is scheduled for 11/9. Have you been contacted by a delivery specialist yet?

Thanks!!!

Not a word....I've been harassing my Sales Associate, but he has no good answers - told me Tuesday that he would have an update in 10 days...I got fed up and reached out to the delivery hotline last night, but to no avail - asked me to reach out to the Sales Associate until a delivery date is confirmed.

It shouldn't be much longer before you have a date confirmed. I'm surprised the delivery hotline couldn't do anything or give you any updates.

Gonna keep this short and sweet so I can get back to learning about my car / playing with my favorite new toy! Took delivery tonight, they were running an hour or so behind so we grabbed dinner nearby, came back and then were in and out in less than 30 minutes. Too dark to really see much but from what I could tell the car / paint / panels etc all looked very good. Will check carefully tomorrow in the daylight (if there is any) and they said we have 48 hours to report any issues.

The car is amazing. I mean A-freakin-Mazing! That Tesla grin everyone talks about is so real. Jumped on GA 400 and put the hammer down. Not even all the way, about 3/4 of full throttle, and oh...my...gosh. Even my wife (who is scared of this car) got the grin after that, then she immediately looked at me and said “Please don’t do that again.” :)

The waiting is terrible and yes, the process leading up to delivery is full of inexcusable errors. But totally worth it now.

OK, I’m headed back out to drive Tiberius some more. That’s his name (yes, my car is a dude). Those of you old enough and nerdy enough (like me) will get the reference.

Congratulations on the arrival of your bouncing baby boy, Tiberius.
Sorry that the labor was so painful.
All is forgotten now; the car is an amnesiac in that way.
ENJOY!!!

I'm still waiting on a reply from my delivery specialist as well. I'll give him 48 hours and then give him a little nudge.

Awesome - so glad to hear that you finally took delivery - hopefully will be able to relate the same on Thursday! Enjoy your new ride!

I have thought of doing the same once I take delivery - would be interested to hear if you get any meaningful response should you decide to send that letter. I think it is important that those in mgmt get some perspective from the customer side on all of this - hopefully they are aware of most, if not all, of what has been happening - but in case they have been fed a line that the kinds of issues that you have run into are isolated - the more feedback they get to the contrary may help in the longer term.

I have found the single biggest problem with Tesla is a broken feedback loop where feedback from customers does NOT get to the people where it needs to get to.

Take the massive breakage in USB music, unfixed for *two years* after *many people* resorted to executive escalation, as an example. It clearly just hasn't made it to the right person, since it could be fixed in less than a week by one programmer.

Or you could take the fact that people have been complaining for *years* about how far away the service centers are -- *including* local service center people who have to serve locations 8 hours away -- but absolutely nothing was done until Musk coincidentally happened to look at a map and went "hey we have terrible geographic coverage". Which I told them five years ago (and four years ago, and three years ago, and two years ago, and last year). This is a company which is simply not competent at processing customer feedback.

So really, anything you can do to make them aware of the recurring problems, or even better, to make them aware of the fact that they're *not noticing* recurring problems due to poor communications with customers, will help the company.

You should have called it "Daystrom"! OK, Maybe not. He went sort of nutty in the end! :)

Good luck with the car. Be careful out there!

It’s after 2 pm and no call yet. I guess delivery tomorrow could still happen even if the truck doesn’t show up until later this evening. But I’m starting to think a delay is coming.

Thursday evening (last night) the Alpharetta delivery center told me they would call me when my car arrives, but if I don’t hear from them I should call Friday evening at 8:30.

So tonight (Friday) I called at 8:30. Since I had not heard anything I assumed my appointment at 12:45 on Saturday wasn’t happening. I just wanted to see if that meant it could push to a later time on Saturday or if it meant a Sunday or beyond delivery.

I was surprised to hear that I was going to receive a call in the next 5 minutes as my car had arrived and it was already being prepped.

So it looks like this is finally happening (finally is very subjective as I’ve only been waiting since late July). We are on for delivery tomorrow at 12:45 pm.
