Stopped by Alpharetta SC today. Easily 200 Model 3s there awaiting prep/delivery, and a car carrier full of 3s unloading while I was there.
If you're awaiting a blue w white interior, VIN 80945, it was built in November and has a piece of masking tape on the inside of the windshield saying it came off of GA4...that's the infamous assembly line in the tent, where quality is better than lines GA1-3. Since that tape will be gone by the time you take delivery, I thought you'd enjoy knowing your car was assembled in the tent.

By the way, the place is slammed full of cars. If yours is there, I'd try to get your delivery date moved forward so you reduce the odds of it getting dinged by another car. Lots of car shuffling going on, and not many deliveries occurring right now (mid-week, not yet end of month).

For those of you already took the delivery, do you know if Tesla would apply for an Alternative Fuel Vehicle License Plate by default? I've seen some w/ a regular license plate and some w/ an alternative fuel vehicle plate, so am curious which type of plate would come w/ the car by default. Thanks.

Regular plate comes by default. Then you hand-carry it into your local tag office and swap it for the AFV plate if you want an AFV plate.

I see. Thanks for the quick response. My delivery is scheduled for Wednesday, changed from home delivery. Super excited but also worried about finding a lot of defects in the meantime. Can't get a hold of my Inside Delivery Advisor, who is based in Las Vegas. I haven't seen a VIN under my account.

I stopped there today looking for my VIN. I found it buried in the middle surrounded by a ton of cars. I did manage to get my delivery changed to tomorrow 12/5. They have a lot sceduled for tomorrow night.

How did you move up the delivery date? Did you contact someone at the service center or call the customer service number (888-518-3752)?

Have you installed an EV charger or NEMA 14-50 outlet yet? I'm exploring the options for home charging and might just install an outlet and charge the car w/ the provided mobile connector. I wonder how much it would cost to get the outlet installed by a certified electrician if the location of the outlet is within a foot from my breaker box. Need recommendations for electrician too. :)

I've also seen some owners charge their cars from their dryers' outlets, which could be an short-term option for me too. My dryer outlet seems to be NEMA 6-50 and I know it requires an adapter for the mobile connector to plug into. Does anyone know if the Alpharetta service center carries it?

While I was there and confirmed my vehicle was on the lot I went in and asked to talk to a delivery specialist. She then confirmed all my paperwork was in order and found an open slot to move me too.

I have a 14-50 plug installed in my garage and plan on using the mobile plug. I installed it myself as it is close to the panel. It shouldn’t be expensive if the plug is near. I wouldn’t spend no more the. 500 bucks if I were you. I personally would use the dryer outlet for awhile and see if that covers your charging needs. I’m not sure if the SC has them in stock. They don’t have a display of any accessories but you can google the number directly to the SC and get ahold of service and ask them.

As for defects, my car was an early build and was perfect. Lots of people love to post about their problems, while few bother to post about their lack of problems. Odds are very high that your car will be perfect. Enjoy.

Check the right side of the Survey tab in the attached, to get a sense for satisfaction rates with various aspects of the car.

Howdy folks. Went by the Alpharetta SC and roamed around the lot looking for my Mod3 Performance. It didn't take too long to find my Vin#. Looked over the exterior pretty close and didn't see anything that I was bothered by. It was dusty, etc.,but I couldn't find a scratch, chipped paint, dented molding, bad gaps, or anything else. I didn't use a magnafying glass, but I felt pretty relieved. There was a full lot of cars. I didn't inspect them closely, but what I did see looked fine and damaged free. I'm scheduled for pickup on Friday and I hope all is smooth. Everyone I spoke with was a pleasure.
 
I took delivery of my MR black on black last night at the Alpharetta service center. Had only 1 deep scratch and a few small scufffs that can be buffed out. The back glass on the side had a small chip taken out of it. Doesn’t effect anything but going to have the glass replaced. Overall the delivery experience was good. Everyone there was super nice and helpful.

Delivery scheduled for 12/19 at Alpharetta-Roswell but trying to reschedule to the weekend after.
I also don't have a VIN yet even though my delivery has been scheduled. I looked around online and some people said they got VINs assigned sometimes as late as the day before delivery so I'm not sure how/when the VIN will get updated.

Anybody had any issues with home delivery vs. picking up at the service center?
 
The pickup of my white AWD EAP went (relatively) well yesterday I had a 3:30 appointment, but my DA wasn't finished with the previous customer until around 5. I sat around chatting with the other customers and watched as cars rolled in and out of the service area. I helped myself to the complementary water and kale chips. My father got a little restless and wandered next door to the BMW dealer.

They wanted me to take delivery of it outside, but I insisted they bring it into the service area (like many other customers) so I could see it under the lights and

No issues detected with the car. The ride home was worth the wait.
 
Has anyone filled out the Georgia Power EV charger rebate form? I see that it says you have to include a copy of the installation and charger invoices. I’m wondering what the charger invoice is since the only record of my purchase is an order conformation email from Tesla.

That's what I included when I sent my rebate form to Georgia Power. I scanned that and the completed rebate form and emailed it. I received a confirmation email less than 48 hours later and the check shortly after that.

How much did you pay to get the Tesla charger installed? I'm picking my M3 up on Wed. and going to be arranging an install very soon.
 
Reviving an old thread here, sorry. Curious if any other Atlantans are having similar issues now that we're a few months from the last post. I ordered on 1/31 and have a delivery appointment set for tomorrow; however, I've received zero communication about that delivery, and only know because I got an auto-generated email and it shows on my Tesla account. I've never been contact by a DA, or any service center. I live in Brookhaven area and somehow mine is set to home delivery, but I'd rather just head up to a SC and take care of it there. Anyone else having similar issues in Atlanta lately?
