I called this morning to see if there was any stock in NSW. There was “a few” Midnight Silver / White seats / 19” wheels so I took one. Car is in Port Kembla and delivery expected within 2 weeks.

Well great now my meme is irrelevant.

Bad news, if GC doesn't pass this inspection coming up on the 30th of November, they will send the ship back to Asia. Hoping we dont lose the $400 delivery fee

what makes you say they don't have typical tow points?

You are correct. I've just watched a YT vid re car tie-downs on a cargo ship. I see they use a long tow hook that screws into the front and rear of every car (ICE or BEV). The tow hook looks exactly the same as the black one in the frunk but potentially longer.

Haha, I'm pretty sure it will pass since fumigation success rates are almost 100%, but with out luck I am pretty sure we're going back to China.

Hopefully, but after inspection there is still a 2 week quarantine period. The earliest time we will get our cars is probably at the end of December-Early January

GC: I thought the purpose of being out-at-sea, after the last failed inspection and fumigation, WAS the quarantine period?

No haha, the last stop wasn't an inspection, it was for more chemicals to be sprayed. There is a 4 week quarantine period (which is about to finish), then a 2 week post-quarantine period. After all that our cars will be docked at Brisbane

I am not sure of that, I think they will fumigate every car individually in China then send it back on the GC or another vessel.

i miss the COVID quarantine thing... remember that... ohh you were in the same shopping centre as someone who might have had covid so you have to quarantine at home for 2 weeks with special paid leave.. that was awesome...

Yep, pretty much. It has happened when New Zealand sent the ship back after finding bugs. With no hesitation, they sent the ship back to Japan.
