Any idea how the biosecurity team detect the presence of stink bugs? Are all cars fumigated when the first occurrence is detected or just the cars they find the stink bugs in hiding? Do stink bugs multiple when left alone at sea (ie. the quarantine period just gives them a chance to breed)?

You are correct. I've just watched a YT vid re car tie-downs on a cargo ship. I see they use a long tow hook that screws into the front and rear of every car (ICE or BEV). The tow hook looks exactly the same as the black one in the frunk but potentially longer.

Rhetorical question - so why don't they make realistic placeholders? Seems like the whole comms process between all parties is severely broken, with some entities just guessing.

If the NSW port authority says gc will arrive 4am Thursday 23, and it takes say 15 hrs (pure guess) to motor down to pk, then gc should be leaving BNE around Wednesday 9am.

I'd still like to know if the fumigation (chemical spray) will impact the health of humans riding in the car (once we get it off McStinky). I'll try and do a Google search for some health info.

Presently it looks like GC is at the Brisbane Bulk Terminal as I type this, but scheduled to go to Port Cartwright tomorrow. My Googling reveals this is where vessels go to await a berthing port (presumably at Fisherman Island for car offloading in GC's case).

Clearly something is wrong with the biosecurity process, especially since GC (Glovis Caravel) should have been on a 'suspect' list given stinkbugs in its past history. It would be in Australia's best interest (I would think) if they asked for biosecurity screening to occur at the last port in...

NSW Port Authority has slipped arrival of GC from 14 Nov to 18 Nov. I suspect 18 Nov is just a placeholder for now. From what I read on the biosecurity website, the quarantine period is typically 4 weeks. So perhaps end Nov until it can head back into Brisbane Port given stinkbugs announced 1 Nov.

I'm on Glovis too with a Melb delivery. VIN showed up in RAV today too. My EDD is still Nov 19 to Dec 10 (and has been for several weeks). Given Glovis needs to sit out a ~4 week quarantine window before it goes back into Brisbane (or heads to Port Kembla) I don't expect to receive my MY RWD...

It is my understanding inventory is typically based on the cars physical in their warehouse plus the cars loaded on a ship and enroute to Australia.
