Doesn't turning off auto present defeat the purpose of buying PUP?

No.
I'd like to open/close all doors with the fob without having any doors open when I walk past. Seems like this is a popular request.

Right, not enabled while auto presenting is active. By FOB, "all close" you can (triple click top FOB button), but "all open" you cannot in any case I've ever seen.

Change your options in settings and it will work.
