Auto park fail

Yes, it's the first time I have posted. I've only had the car 1 month. Not sure why I would make something like this up

Actually a lot of people come here and make stuff up because they have other interests.

If it's legit and the car really "raced" then you should talk to Tesla and have them pull the data.

I was in a parking lot with perpendicular parking spaces. I had the parked cars to my right and got the signal when a space appeared. The monitor showed the space (I was several cars past it) as the blue outline about where it ought to be. The rest is as stated - I put the car in reverse when asked and it did the rest. The contact was a scrape that removed some paint but did not cause a dent in either vehicle.

They finally replied to my email yesterday and asked that I contact Customer Service, so there's that at least...

Did you have to touch on the screen for the "Start" button or you just needed to shift gear in reverse and the system did it for you?

I touched the screen, and waited for the instruction to put the car in reverse

Weird. I've heard of people talking about the sensors sometimes having trouble detecting trucks, but not a sedan.

I have had this happen with my model S several times. It seems to have something to do with the timing of putting the car in reverse and tapping the start button. I am always on guard for it so I have avoided any collisions, fortunately.
