I would have won so many top PAX events if SS was 0.835 and STU was 0.833 vs EV at 0.830 instead of 0.833 / 0.830 / 0.832. Gonna be a lot of annoyed STU and SS drivers this year.

In just my last event that would have taken me from 4th to 2nd in PAX against a 20 year EVO school instructor.

At nationals, it would have meant these PAX times too:
RAW2023 PAX2024 PAX
SS113.78794.78595.012
AS115.81795.31795.433
BS117.75696.32496.324
EV115.09495.87395.528
STU114.44494.98995.332

My last event was a double header and was told specifically by a sitting board member my results were being directly looked at and would have weight in their voting.
One driver in one region is exactly how we got into this SS mess back in 2019! ;)
Glad it worked out, but shame they couldn't have followed the data from all sorts of national events which clearly show the M3P as a slow AS car, fast BS car.

Well to be fair, my regions AS class is highly competitive. Dan Simms won nats this year and he constantly goes toe 2 toe with a few guys in the class. Also, our PAX is quite difficult with a number of champs from Chicago and Milwaukee region and national trophy winners.

And also to point out.. I was in favor of moving the car back into a competitive class, whilst the mess in 2019, said Tesla driver wanted to bury the car along with a vendetta from Daddio.

Isn't AS prep basically suspension without camber mods? So you'd have to pull FUCAs, camber arms, etc., with everything else the same?
Yeah, re-looking at it, I forgot about wheel width having to be stock, and all the bushings have to go back. So all you can really do is shocks (not springs) and one sway bar.

Which is why this is actually a BS car in stock form, not AS, and why Daddio could only eek out a BS victory in 2019.

That's an interesting perspective on that last one...
Lots of suspension movement. I kept ripping front mud flaps off the car at events. they would hit the ground and I would hear a "pop" then a clacking when they were hitting the side of the car... so i put them on quick release clips and remove them at each event now. 🤓

It appears EVX Pax was changed to .834
Yes, unfortunatley this is true.

Rick was kind enough to contact me this week and give me heads up that it was changing. The only data he gave was "A lot of results at year’s end often has an EVX driver at the top of the Index."

So apparently while the national results drove a drop from 0.832 to 0.830, there were enough dominating local events after nationals to drive a change to 0.834. If a pure numerical input was used, it would take a huge number of events with EVX at the very top to move from a 0.830 in September to a 0.834 in December. A real shame, it's pretty clear Rick got some serious pressure to keep EVX just 0.001 below SS that was likely not 100% data driven. It's even more suprising that he got that pressure given the change of the Model 3 from SS to AS.

Just as an example- At 2023 nationals this change would move top EVX from 62nd overall in PAX to 100th overall in PAX.

I have a bad feeling that it's this one event in Phoenix that caused this change, just like this one reigon was the primary reason for the PAX in 2022/2023 as well (and to be clear, Brian Peters top PAX's every time he drives. He top PAX'd the previous event in a GT4, and he can run a .992 in a 2016 C6 in SS..)
