This past weekend received info to fill out tradein and credit application. Yesterday credit application approved 3.59% for 60 month.
Today received email fro delivery specialist to confirm all the details. All tabs turned green then grey.
Message creating final contract.
Spoke with specialist she said she will reach me when they get trade in value assigned and contract all ready.

Wow, Congrats. I just took delivery of my red multi-coat AWD w/ white interior yesterday, and mine is VIN 561XX, with a 08/18 build. Obviously the VIN assignments are not sequential.
Makes me feel better. Getting 560XX on Friday. Same config so probably the same batch. I thought I might be getting a reworked LR where the front subframe fell off so they decided to turn it in to an AWD. This forum has got me paranoid.

Owner, late reserv though, waiting for delivery date on our White Model 3 AWD, black interior, sport wheels, EAP car. Was already contacted by Tesla and filled out all forms but waiting for info on trade-in form to complete. I know we’re close. Orig Sep-Nov delivery date given. Glad to hear the AWD non-P are being delivered.

As for the vins, I’m assuming they get assigned by groups of the same build.

Congrats!! Enjoy it.

Thanks, Unfortunately, as agreed at signing, I took it out for a 24 mile inaugural drive, and returned it immediately to Tesla for minor paint repair.
I live 200 miles from the service center, and didn't want to drive it that far, and back two weeks later without PPF on the car. So Tesla agreed to keep the car and expedite paint repair (1 wk instead of 2wks). Tesla will deliver the car to my Detailer/PPF shop a few miles from them when fixed. I'll pick up a week later after detailer paint correction (clear coat polishing), front end PPF, and C-Quarts Finest treatment.

John, my Detailer and owner of Metropolitan Detail, Bellevue, WA attended the delivery and thoroughly inspected paint thickness and finish for defects (He does this complementary for customers). He found over a dozen minor issues, but claimed it typical for any automaker. However one dust entrapment on the top of the front bumper was too large to buff out, without exposing the primer and would require paint, thus the Tesla repair (outsourced to their local body shop).

Now I wait two more weeks, but use "line waiters" are use to waiting;).
From my short local drive, I found the car to be unlike anything else I've ever driven, and the three miles I had autopilot active, was very impressive.

P.S. I got the aero wheels with my Red MC AWD, white interior VIN561XX, (08/18 build).

Maybe I'm in the minority but I would much rather have some dust entrapment in the paint or clear coat than have a brand new car "touched up" by a local body shop.... that invites its own set of problems.

Dang that's not what I want to hear. I had hoped they had fixed their paint shop problems. I don't want a repainted car.

Yeah, not a good situation, but with the addition of front end PPF, it would exaggerate the visibility of the two large "dust nibs". Had it not been on top of the front bumper, in a highly visible location, I would have let it go. But my Detailer/PPF shop couldn't get it to look good without wet sanding thru the paint coat and leaving exposed primer. We ask Tesla to have the shop use "touch-up" paint if possible to avoid having to paint and blend the whole bumper.
The detailer indicated: "we are looking at your car under scrutiny and most of these items would be deemed acceptable and normal for all car manufacturers."
I noticed the "dust nibs" on the bumper and hood before he started his inspection, but I wouldn't have found the majority of the issues he did. He even found paint runs under the air dam. but you'd have to put your head to the ground to see 'em.

P.S. My deliver center was adequately lighted for a warehouse, but not bright enough for a new car inspection...take a flashlight to delivery.

I agree, though as discussed, dust entrapment is a problem if you're applying PPF over the paint. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe dust entrapment is below the paint and would require sanding down and repainting the entire panel to correct. I would reject delivery if I found this in any metal surface as a repainted panel can be detected by a paint meter and result in lower trade in value. I might be willing to accept a bumper paint defect since bumper repaints can't be detected with a paint meter.

Yeah, I could potentially live with a repainted bumper cover.... some manufacturers even sell replacements that are factory painted.... but I don't think I could handle having a brand new car sanded, painted and blended on the metal stamped parts. Not only is it a potential reduced resale value issue but you also have a whole host of issues with noticing the paintwork later after the car gets a little older... different flop to the new paint vs. old, etc.

Yick.
