Thanks, Unfortunately, as agreed at signing, I took it out for a 24 mile inaugural drive, and returned it immediately to Tesla for minor paint repair.
I live 200 miles from the service center, and didn't want to drive it that far, and back two weeks later without PPF on the car. So Tesla agreed to keep the car and expedite paint repair (1 wk instead of 2wks). Tesla will deliver the car to my Detailer/PPF shop a few miles from them when fixed. I'll pick up a week later after detailer paint correction (clear coat polishing), front end PPF, and C-Quarts Finest treatment.
John, my Detailer and owner of Metropolitan Detail, Bellevue, WA attended the delivery and thoroughly inspected paint thickness and finish for defects (He does this complementary for customers). He found over a dozen minor issues, but claimed it typical for any automaker. However one dust entrapment on the top of the front bumper was too large to buff out, without exposing the primer and would require paint, thus the Tesla repair (outsourced to their local body shop).
Now I wait two more weeks, but use "line waiters" are use to waiting
.
From my short local drive, I found the car to be unlike anything else I've ever driven, and the three miles I had autopilot active, was very impressive.
P.S. I got the aero wheels with my Red MC AWD, white interior VIN561XX, (08/18 build).
