Anyone got any ideas for a basic ball mount? I'm just planning on some light duty towing, ie, a John boat, a laser sailboat, etc. Not towing far, Just a few miles at most.
I see the specs are 8.5" max and a 1/2" rise at Max.
Depends how your trailer measure out but and what your ball size is. I am using this. I needed a 3/4-inch rise for my application and just flipped it over.
I plan to use a 3/4" rise to tow my Sea Doo. I made this determination after using a 2" drop with my Acura MDX. I also bought an extension, because I don't like how "buried" into the bumper the receiver is. I think the trailer will be too close to the vehicle on boat ramps. I also don't want my new baby in the water
What are the consequences of using a 1" rise instead of the recommended 3/4" rise. I have a 2 1/4 drop (1" rise) but I don't know if it will do any damage to my Y. It is only 1/4" but that may be significant.
