I can set cruise control to whatever speed I want it to hold at no problem. When I use my basic autopilot, it won't let me go more than the speed limit. Am I missing a setting?
You can exceed the speed limit on autopilot. You have to specify an "offset" - it's in your AP menu. Either set it to a % above the speed limit or you can specify mph above (to a max of 5 mph over). I have mine set for 5 over.

On freeway, you can set your cruise speed to the maximum of its capability (90 MPH for radar and 85 MPH for radarless). It might bump your speed down when it sees a speed sign, and you might have to manually set the cruise speed up again.
You can set a maximum of 5 MPH above the city speed limit in the city. If it's 25, you can maximally set it at 30...
