Battery port door no longer opens when pressed

I used to be able to unlock and open the battery port by putting pressure on the port door itself, and it would open. This no longer works and I have to do it from inside the vehicle on the screen. Any idea how to fix this or was this a deliberate change?

One adjusts this by rotating the rubber bumper on the car side.

I'm going to assume that you have the fob in your pocket and the fob battery is fresh ?

Have you tried holding down the button on the trunk of your fob? That also opens the charge port door.
