I was disappointed to see unsightly wrinkles on my Model X windshield sunshade (the folded mesh that came with the vehicle) near rear view mirror when installing it the official correct way, so found a better-looking way to install it that minimizes mesh wrinkles and forms a straight horizontal edge:
1. Install sunshade using official method.
2. Deploy the sun visors without pushing them into magnetic latch position. I.e. let them hang as free cantilevers.
3. Pull sunshade down slightly so it rests on the free-standing sun visors.
4. Push the sun visors slightly towards the edge of the windshield camera module (the base of the rear view mirror), such that the magnetic feet of the visors deploy slightly to touch the sunshade. This reduces sun visor movement during driving, and makes the sunshade edge nearly perfectly horizontal .
