…in case also people thought the two major parties are simply two sides of the same coin

The BTL comments in RenewEconomy are infested with lots of cynical, churlish and ungrateful comments along these lines. Labor is the same as the Libs, the current Government is all talk and no action, is in the pocket of the fossil fuel industry, etc.

Pointing out the things they have done that prove the ALP is clearly not the LNP (e.g. legislate an emissions reduction target, the 82% renewable energy target by 2030, getting the energy ministers to work together to create a national energy policy, legislating the safeguard mechanism, the Powering Australia transmission grid policy etc) doesn’t even get grudging recognition, let alone praise. It’s just never good enough 🤷‍♂️.

Lots of words although nothing solid. Reminds me of work preso's

Useless. An announcement to maybe make a decision in future after consulting with the friggen motor industry.

Consultation has begun, this media article posted just after the announcement, must have been canned and ready to go...
Felt like reading Murdoch press but was actually the SMH.

The Greens and the Smart Energy Council criticised the government for not setting a deadline for pollution caps.

“We now have a roadmap but with no clear destination. The government needs to set electric vehicle targets and get moving on implementing strong fuel efficiency standards,” Greens leader Adam Bandt said.
