California Rebate: Does a $60k+ Model 3 qualify?

If you order a Model 3 Performance with FSD, you will notice it breaks the $60k ceiling for the now reduced $2000 EV rebate.

Since you send in your sales contract to apply, they know what you paid. So perhaps it's safer to order FSD later if you are going that route.

This question came up before and someone on the forum called CVRP to inquire. The answer that came back is that it still applies because the base price is below $60K. However, if you want to be conservative you could just buy the car without FSD and then add it after delivery. It’s the same price so unless you absolutely have to roll it into your loan it is probably worth doing so just to be safe.

The site has the list of which cars are eligible and which cars are not.

For those that are not (Roadster, S, X), the reason cited is because the base price is over $60,000.

So pick a car that is in the eligible list even though technically, the options may push it over $60,000 because what counts is the base price, not how much options you add to the base price.
