I have an open order with a VIN and delivery set for 12/31 8pm at the factory. I won't be taking this car because I just took delivery of a LR AWD today. I no longer have a cancel button on the SR+ order and the delivery guy told me to just leave it open and it will get reassigned when I don't take delivery.

If anyone here is waiting for the same spec and knows how to transfer the order, you are welcome to it. The FAQ says...

Can I transfer my Model 3 order or reservation before delivery?
After you place your order, you can transfer your reservation to another person by working with a Delivery Experience Specialist.​
 
Driving by the old Hawthorne mall (near the Mothership) and I’m seeing car carriers pull up and offload their cars into the mall parking structure and leave. They look to be SR+. No visible Dual-Motor badges

I wish I could pick up your car. I am in Los Angeles, and ordered almost identical one on Nov 4, got a call yesterday morning that my order is delayed. I called my advisor today and was informed it could be another month (what ...?). Maybe the cheapest model got least priority, and it didn't help that I made a config tweak at the end of Nov. I am going to lease the car, so hopefully the financial hit related to the tax rebate won't be as serious as buying.

Im interested! I would need it sent out to SoCal if possible though

In theory your lease price was discounted slightly by the amount of the tax credit that Tesla was able to take had they sold it to you by end of year. So it’s actually their loss now but should have no financial impact on you. It will be interesting to see if the end of the tax credit has any impact on lease pricing.
 
So... curious...

1. Were there any October orders that got a call or text saying their order wouldn't make EOY?
2. What color were the SR+'s that got a call or text saying their order wouldn't make EOY? Did they have FSD? I am wondering if Tesla prioritized more expensive SR+ orders.

and omg @ehongyu so not only is your car not making EOY, it could be end of January?!?! That's so... ridiculous...

I know Tesla DC's are working hard delivering cars every day, even til midnight. Problem is, it's still not enough cars for everyone. =T I just texted my SA again (he hasn't replied since my text asking for an update 12/26) to see if he can help with checking on my order... we'll see! (probably not. lol.)
 
I wonder if there is a limit to how many incoming texts your Iphone can handle before it blows up. These SAs must have smoke coming out of their phones from all the texts they are receiving. And they don’t seem to have any communication from corporate other than “your car has been delayed” so at some point I think they just turn off their phones and give up.

Finally got ahold of my SA and allegedly my account had a note that a mystery man w/ a name I forgot had called me and SPOKE TO ME about my order. Never received this call. Or any text. I’m just baffled how a company can have employees that are so openly lying on customers accounts and it doesn’t seem like it’s an issue
 
Tried calling... no one answering, that's why I just went to see what's going on in Carlsbad and I posted what they told me earlier in the thread. I just figured I should check in with my SA with a quick text just to see if he can check on my order, but probably not. :T and I feel like the showroom wouldn't know as well as the delivery center on what's going on with deliveries, otherwise I did think about stopping by there too... but I guess I'm just gonna let things be and see how it goes!

Why don't you call Tesla Showroom, Press #3 and ask nicely whats up with your order.

I think delivery center can ping the VIN to see where they are. At least I just received call from Buena Park DC that confirming again for tomorrow 3 PM delivery. I asked about the gentleman to check if the car is on the way and he pulled the system and told me car is on 5 freeway and should be at DC late tonight. Same thing as on 12/27 I called delivery center to have them checked the VIN and car's location when I received the VIN that day noon.
