Can't Get Autopark to work

Can you guys help? I must be doing something wrong. I have tried it at the grocery store parking lot and out of 5 attempts, I only got the P icon once and then it did park ok. I am following the precise speed instructions as shown in the manual so its not that. Any ideas?

Model 3 owner here, its really picky. I have pretty much given up on auto-park since its so slow, but when I do use it it will often flash the park icon, then it will disappear. If you are parallel parking, turn on your signal, put it into reverse and slowly act like you are going to park yourself. It will USUALLY figure it out and allow you to press the button at that point.

I was told that you have to be in a parking lot where the cameras see parked cars both left and right. Also, you can only park in between two cars. One of the few disappointing features that need some more intelligence added.

I drove around empty parking lots and side streets in the first week trying make it work but as others have said you need cars on both sides and need to be going slow and drive closer than you think to the spot you want.
