Carbon Fiber Roof

It is clearly not a "CF roof". It's some transparent material with a single layer bonded in or on whatever it's made from.
The laminated OE glass roof is stronger than steel and one of the reasons the M3/MY get such high scores in safety tests.
In a roll-over, I think I'd prefer to have the OE roof protecting me than one of these.
I suppose it's possible they've taken a pattern M3 glass roof or an OE one from a totalled car and bonded a layer of CF to that. In which case it will be slightly heavier than the original roof.

Something is off about this. I don't understand how carbon fiber can weigh as much as tempered glass. Glass is extremely heavy compared to carbon fiber. Also the fact that light can be seen through the roof is strange.

I was originally thinking it should indeed weight like 5lb…
