Card is require everytime when to start

Firmware update to 2019.204.4 appears causing this problem. There used to be no need to pull out the card as long as I carry with me iPhone with Tesla app. Is there remedy for it?

Turn off Bluetooth. Turn it back on.

Try restarting the car (hold down both steering wheel buttons for a second). Also try rebooting the Tesla app by logging in and out. If it still doesn’t work, take it in to a service center, this is not a common bug.

Also check to make sure Mobile Access is enabled. If you'd recently taken it in for service they turn it off and sometimes forget to turn it back on.

Whenever this happens to me, it's always the bluetooth. Turn it off and back on.

Ive been having this issue too.

The car would recognize my phone enough to let me in (even shows as my phone being connected).. but refuse to turn on without the card.

If you put your phone in airplane mode... give it 15 seconds.. then take it out of airplane mode.. then your issue will be resolved.

I have found that the bluetooth was turned off. I have been just back from oversea trip for two weeks and during which I turned off the bluetooth.
