Its only a 16A cable, so you halve your charge speed at single phase type2 outlets. If I didn't already have a Type 2 cable that I got from Tesla, I'd skip the local options and order this one. Unlike other cables, it has a built in Tesla button so you can open the charge port with and stop charging when you're done - just like a Tesla Wall Connector or UMC cable.
Hadn't thought about single phase chargers. There's a 32A version tooIts only a 16A cable, so you halve your charge speed at single phase type2 outlets.
CCS-2 would be DC they are all fixed cables not BYOI've encountered a few chargers now with BYO cables and a couple particularly close to my house.
Does anyone have some recommendations for some locally available CCS-2 to public charger cables?
Is it even worth it?
It doesn't just open the flap. Having it on the cable means that it can also send the control signal to stop charging and to unlock the charger port. The remote on Aliexpress can't do that, it can only open the flap. And it's going to be $600 landed, all for a silly button that opens the charge flap? A $10 remote off alibaba does the same thing, and doesn't require either end of the cable to be plugged in.

but it's handy when giving car to family member and don't want to give anything more than key-ring and BIG red button.Yes!
Who wants to have to get your phone out.
You may as well trade your Tesla in for a Leaf and join the other peasants
Ah well, that makes all the difference, definately worth $300 more for a cable that will probably barely get used.It doesn't just open the flap. Some people like to spend $300 on a plethora of accessories like wheel covers, HUDs, etc etc...I'm quite happy with putting money towards actual QoL improvements. I usually use my Type 2 cable at least once a week.Ah well, that makes all the difference, definately worth $300 more for a cable that will probably barely get used.
I can't remember with the westgate BYO cable charger if you have to turn the charger on before or after connecting the car.I got the Type 2 Charging Cable - 22kW 32A 3 Phase - 5 METRE from Tessories for $259.
Went to Westgate in my travels and nothing happened - the wonders of assumably broken on site chargers.
