Charge Port Door Broke Off!

Mine broke off just a few days ago while I was gently going over my car with a cloth. It did not hit the floor because I held my hand right beside it.
My Tesla is a Sept. 2021 Model 3 Long Range, made in China, with 64k kilometers on it.
Still under warranty, cross my fingers that Tesla covers it.

It's still under warranty, so yes it should be covered. But you have to love the made in China quality. :)

This just happened to me while I was plugging in my car at home. As the door was opening it fell off onto the top of my hand holding the charger then onto the ground.

Soonest appt is mobile for next Tuesday. 🤦‍♂️

Mine fell off while I was having it washed by a pressure washer.. they guy that was washing it said he just was washing the taillight with the pressure washer and it fell off .. I reviewed the sentry cameras and he was telling the truth .. the door fell on the ground and it has a crack in the middle .. they glued it back with a super glue.. but I noticed that the door stopped responding when I press to open .. eventually after searching online, I realized that the pressure sensor that's located at the back of the charging port door has fell off .. it's a small rhombus shaped piece ..
There are door covers on ebay without the motor selling for 15-20 dollars .. I'm thinking of just replacing that instead of replacing the whole motor and cover

Pressure washing is never a good idea on any vehicle.

Hope an automatic car wash is ok.
It's a weak point. All kinds of car washes SHOULD be ok, but that flap is vulnerable to any kind of sideways force. I don't hesitate to use a pressure washer, but I do take care not to direct high pressure directly at the flap, especially from the side rather than directly towards it. I also take care not to press hard on the flap or move quickly across it when hand washing since my towel or mitt could catch an edge.

I don't use automated car washes because they are too hard on the paint. As far as the flap goes, it only takes one badly maintained brush to catch an edge and rip it off.

If mine were to come loose, I'd give epoxy a try to reattach. Since Tesla will end up replacing the entire assembly, there's little risk in trying and failing. It wouldn't be easy since the contact point is so small, and it will be tricky to stabilize the joint and keep everything carefully aligned while the epoxy sets.

I bought the plastic cover from ebay for 9.90 $ .. I was pleasantly surprised that it came with the magnetic rhombus that is responsible for the press-to-open function of the charging port door...
First I removed the plastic cover of the charging door arch ( I'll attach photos below ), but I'm my case it wasn't easy to remove because the guy who was responsible for breaking the charging port cover in the first place glued it back with super glue, which dripped down the plastic arch cover that needs to be removed...
I managed to remove it but it took a lot of force and it broke off ( glued it back ) .. once you remove it, you have two torx screws, unscrew them, remove the old cover .. put the new cover .. and thats it .. super easy ..
