charging drop to 4kw Why?

People who are good at helping people figure this type of stuff out will need a lot (lot lot) more information than that to even begin to speculate. You dont mention any details at all, like (but not limited to), what connector (charger) you are using, what its plugged into, what the wiring is for the thing you are plugging into, what adapter you are using, if there are any other symptoms of power issues wherever you are charging (stuff like that).
 
Your EvSE is getting too hot. Mine drops from 48amp to 24amp if I charge up when sun is hitting it. No problem if I charge later in day when sun is not hitting unit. Evse are designed to be air tight in event of fire (low oxygen)…so don’t drill holes in your evse. I plan to install a barrier in front of my evse so it doesn’t get direct sun. And….cheeerrrssss
