Clips stuck behind dash vent

While attempting to re-install the dash speaker grill, a couple of metal clips piped out and lodged itself behind the driver side hvac vent. Will removing the dash piece give access to remove the clips? Or is that a different part that needs to be removed?

Did you have it apart trying to fix a rattle?

Do you have a magnetic retriever? I used a flexible once with a magnet tip to retrieve dropped clips when I removed my dash to fix a rattle.
