Steamboat Springs has been on the coming soon map for 2.5 years+. I’m friends with the city manager and he hasn’t heard anything about a Supercharger. I think we can write that off and enjoy Kremmling and dream of Craig.

Ugh... neither one helps a Fort Collins <-> Steamboat trip, and North Park is almost entirely devoid of charging.
I took a look when he posted that and Walden was the only reasonable candidate. I honestly don't think that's going to happen any time soon. I think they'd sooner put one in Steamboat proper, but I agree with the general consensus that the Kremmling supercharger is indicative of Craig and Vernal (and likely Heber City) eventually getting built to complete that US Highway rather than Steamboat.True. Where would you put one? Walden?
I took a look at Plugshare and it lists eight locations for L2 charging, both J1772 and Tesla destination. Some might be full in ski season but it seems likely that at least one spot would be available.I took a look when he posted that and Walden was the only reasonable candidate. The Fort Collins to Steamboat roundtrip is a fairly specific use case and the work around through Laramie or Denver Metro is not good, but it isn't that bad either. I haven't dived into Plugshare, but I'm guessing there is some kind of L2 option that could also solve the problem.
Probably because of the cost of land or electricity. These things are not cheap. Getting a reliable 1 MW power supply is not trivial. Why Tesla put a Supercharger Station in Kremmling, versus Steamboat, is a puzzle to me.
I heard Tesla was skipping Steamboat Springs and going with Kremmling and Craig instead. Of course plans can always change. I think Kum & Go might just be trying to cover the market and perhaps have Tesla Superchargers in some towns and CCS/CHAdeMO in others. That way they can serve all different kinds of EVs but don't need to have both types of equipment in every location. In some towns, they might be able to have one location with Superchargers and the other with CCS. Based on the ICEing issues we've seen in Kremmling, they definitely don't have room for both Superchargers and CCS/CHAdeMO at the one location in Steamboat Springs. They do have a second Kum & Go location there though...I noticed that a "coming soon" CCS/CHAdeMO in Steamboat popped up recently on plugshare: PlugShare - Find Electric Vehicle Charging Locations Near You
Apparently, it's at the Kum&Go in Steamboat - given recent supercharger builds at Kum&Go sites, it made wonder if there might possibly also be supercharger construction there, but nothing like that is visible in the one picture posted on plugshare...
The CCS/CHAdeMO charger is now online and available in Steamboat on ChargePoint's site. Additionally, Fairplay and Del Norte recently had their CCS/CHAdeMO DCFCs activated.
Some of those places are in the plan for the Colorado CCS/Chademo network:Great to see so many new CCS/CHAdeMO sites popping up in Colorado. It's surprising to me to see so many in tiny towns (like Fairplay or Del Norte) while some of the larger town (such as Durango, Alamosa, Cortez, Gunnison) still have nothing in terms of DC fast charging. Would be great to see superchargers show up in those places soon, but if not, then a CCS/CHAdeMO site or 2 would be nice!

So far as Supercharger Stations are concerned, Alamosa has been on the "coming soon" map for awhile. Gunnison is not needed with Supercharger Stations in both Montrose (nearing completion) and Poncha Springs. Durango is only 46 miles from the Farmington NM Supercharger Station, although it would be more convenient for US 160 travelers.
I sure would like to see one in Cortez, however, although it hasn't been on Tesla's map. (And what about Kayenta AZ, on the "coming soon" map since 2016?)
