All sounds too quick for me....
I configured on June 28 and was notified on June 29 that my car is ready for delivery. The delivery date is as early as July 17th...
learned today that Tesla has delivered 28,386 Model 3 to date. so this may be a rejected car?

VIN is 268**
The config is: RWD, MSM, Aero
Location: Northern VA
Reserved September, 2016

They have over 10,000 cars in transit for current delivery because, now it's July. As I've said several times, don't take the delivery estimates as gospel,. take them as maximums.

How many combinations are there, even with AWD and P? Not that many!

Maybe I was not clear. I received am email from tesla Sales Advisor, and he want to confirm with me on the delivery date. So the July 17th is the actual date not an estimate. So I am think the car may already sit in the delivery center at the moment, but their schedule just full until July 17th?

Ah, yeah, the other problem is that they may be booking out for the next few weeks, since they DO have the pile of cars already produced but can't do anything about the X slots of delivery bays and delivery people.

In Ontario, they rented a superdome sort of place for this. See Trevor's M3OC posts on this, when they pushed a lot of Model 3's to Canada last month.

Yes. Unfortunately, the VIN indicates a rejected car.

As others have said, there is no way to know from the VIN itself that the car was rejected. You can try asking your ISA or Delivery Specialist, but they may not know. Plus, there are lots of benign reasons for "rejecting" a car. A bunch of people changed to AWD and Perf versions when they became available. Or it could be someone who paid $500 to change color or wheels. Sometimes financing falls through, people move to a different state, or whatever.

You can drive yourself crazy worrying about stuff. Just go look at the car, and if it looks good to you, be happy. Minor panel alignment flaws can be fixed. Surface paint imperfection (swirls, etc.) can too. Paint chips and larger flaws may be trickier and take longer, but still fixable. You should decide what matters most to you and where you draw the line. Maybe go look at a bunch of 3's in the lot at your delivery location and see what issues, if any, jump out. If you are going to get paint protection film and/or ceramic coating anyway, talk to your installer to see what paint issues they would feel confident in fixing. As for mechanical/electrical stuff (i.e., not body work), I feel pretty confident that Tesla service would fix any issues properly and under warranty.

It's not a rejected car....

My MSM is set for delivery on 7/12 in Florida.

VIN 258xx....

In researching the VIN, there appears to be a bunch of MSM RWD with VIN's between 230xx -280xx.... These all have estimated manufacture dates of either late May or early June... So yours and mine are only at the max 6 weeks old..

Thanks all!
my delivery is scheduled on July 21. We will see what will happen.
BTW, it takes forever to communicate with ISA. It takes days for him to get back to my simple questions. Hope this will be the only bad experience for my model 3, but I feel that more frustrations are on the way....
