It’s confusing that this is confusing to people.
Most people don't catch the "we've tested" at the end of the paragraph - they read the headline "Best and Worst Car Acceleration" and then jump to the list. The reactions on other sites prove this to be true. People think it's a legitimate study but it's not, at all. I can tell you must be super smart by the tone of your comment but we mere mortals are quickly led astray by misleading pieces such as this.
It’s literally in the title of the article. I’m definitely super smart but I don’t think that’s a required trait here.

Anyone with the slightest bit of contextual awareness about CR knows this isn’t that far from the truth.
I didn’t see a Pagani Huayra on their list either. Nor did I expect to, because it’s Consumer Reports.
